Miss Info Exclusive: Swizz Beats “Where the Cash At?”
Posted by Miss Info under album preview , exclusives , good for hip hop , good for me , new music[16] Comments
(this photo is from last year’s Bape NYC opening. Nigo, Swizz, Pharell)
Here’s Swizz’s first single of his upcoming album…. This guy always brings out some catchy bangers right before Summer Jam, every dang spring.
And um…there’s plenty of subliminals here to keep the gossipblogs busy, lol.
Props to The Finisher Mr. Cee, he debuted the track on the radio on his Friday Night Live show.

formulaic garbage.
it seems like usually swizz at least tries to have some drums poppin
this joint just ripped the drums from 50’s i get money. then follow the usual swizz formula with some dramatic or triumphant sounding sample or generic keyboards and then screaming a hip hop quotable with a fatman scoop style cadence over the chorus and swizz calls it a day

I’m sorry if you think this song is whack then you need to either go back to the streets and just listen to that “kill you” hip hop or better yet stop hating. Cuz i bet if this song came on in the club and some girl was in front of you going crazy you will dance to this track. I will admit I got swizz last album and it really wasn’t up to par but hopefully with the seperation with him and his wife it doesn’t affect his work. Truly hot track!!

@ Lee
u sound crazy. nobody’s hating if they think the song is whack. i dont particually care for the track either. it doesn’t sound like anything different than what he’s put out before.
if there’s a girl dancing to this song in the club, you’d have to be an idiot to sit there & watch, as opposed to dancing with her. if someone does dance wit her, it doesn’t make it a good song.
people dance to soulja boy & you know his shit is whack.

New Track from his next album? Serious? Riot Squad (RIP Stack Bundles) and Joe Budden already used this track for “You Know What’ll Happen” a while back. In fact, there’s a video of it floating around now.

Please tell me the Swizz track is from a mixtape.
And if I recall correctly, I think the track also predates 50’s I Get Money for the commenter saying that the drums were lifted (I could be wrong). Either way, both 50’s track and this one were produced by Apex so they sound similar for a reason.

i like the track, feeling subliminal stabs. swizz do come out wit some great summer bangers. as far as using the same drums, no one really notices when you in a party or bangin it out in ya car.

Fact:
these drums (actually the snare) and the pattern are originally from Cassidy’s “I’m a Hustla” which was also produced by Swizz. So he aint lift shit from anyone but himself.
Whats sad is that real bangers like this are now viewed as “not hip hop” and people really look to cats like Wayne to “bring hip hop back”……So explain to me what hip hop was BEFORE him, cause it damn sure wasn’t shit you’re hearing now.

and to you Kinetic, you’re right. Hustla does predate I Get Money by a longshot. And the producer’s response to claims of ripping Swizz drums was “he got them from a machine, and i have the same machine so they’re not HIS.” I Get Money actually used the same drums. But who cares? Throughout the history of hip hop, drums (breaks to be precise) have been used countless times. Impeach the President (by the Honeydrippers) to name one.
