Miss Info Exclusive: LL Cool J “I Cry” feat. Lil Mo
Posted by Miss Info under exclusives , good for me , new music[3] Comments
I mentioned last night that me and a few key folks from Hot97 (and DJ S&S, my old old pal Reef from Sirius Shade 45, and a couple others) met with LL Cool J. He was very humble in his discussion of what he hopes to accomplish at this stage of his career, and he was very honest when I asked him about how the changes in the front office (read: Hov’s exit) have affected him and his relationship with “the building” (read: the label he started at 24 years ago, and railed against all last year)
Anyways….maybe this weekend while I’m taking a break, I’ll finally get to write up what LL said…and also edit this interview with Game….but in the meantime, here’s a song that got unanimously good response from the radio vets in the room like Mr. Cee, Enuff, Envy, etc…
I think what I like about this song, is that there is a need and place for nice, female-friendly, mainstream hip hop…and it doesn’t have to be overly cheesy or soft to appeal to a wide demo. And ultimately, LL knows how to make those records. I hated those previous collabos with Amerie and J.Lo because they were corny and fake. And just looking good in the video but sounded horrible on the track is not enough.
I Cry (radio edit) (mastered).mp3
(thanks to Pecas, Yvette, Atlas, Steve and Sav….lol, and Mazzi)

Love ya missinfo BUT this new LL / Lil Mo joint will go nowhere. You might like it, BUT thats the same as me diggin LL’s collab with Amerie.
I though it was great (especially with the Kenny Burke / Keep Rising To The Top sample) but Lil MO, Like LL and like Amerie – all of them – are done and over with in terms of making hit records.
Sad, but its truth. Still I’m on the bleachers routing..
