Of course, the big homie Funkmaster Flex got to drop the bombs on the first song from the reunited Diplomats, he played it tonite on his Friday night Hot97 show. And even though I missed the commotion while watching Ip Man 2, thankfully both Jimmy and Cam sent me the CDQ of the song, because I’ve been waiting to hear this too!….and share with you.
Even though its still early yet, I’m definitely proud to see the progress. Big up to Jim Jones for persevering, Killa Cam for allowing, and Juelz for joining…Dipset2010!

UPDATE: my co-worker and all-around nice guy DJ Bobby Trendz followed up Funk Flex’s “movie” by playing the song on his Hot97 show right after Flex….I asked him to send me his mix as well. This is fantastic.
I’ll miss the Dips over soulful beats, but Araab kills it, and it sounds so nice.
Everyone brought their A game. I am so glad they didn’t disappoint on this.

This was cool, they all sounded cool with me. I am glad they came on some beat that no one is even coming close to messing with right now. They need to dictate what we are going to be hearing in the future from other artists and not following. This is why these dudes were the best, because they did shit others weren’t doing.
When you look at it, those that are selling/doing shows (i.e. Wayne, Gucci, Ross etc…) are using the same formula Dipset used back in the early 2000′s.
I truly haven’t given a shit about Dipset in four years and this just made me remember what drew me too them in the first place.

It’s funny I just heard about this to cause I was in the club last night here in the CHI & they was playing a lot of Dipset! Like someone up top said it reminded how powerful their movement was in the early 2000′s & how I grew up on them in HS! Which is why I would love to see a lot of that old soulful Dipset sound over a Heatmakerz, Just or Ye beat as well!

I am digging for a copy of the Flex premier…I missed out last night…I love listening to flex drop the bombs and run it back…I live upstate and miss out on this stuff all the time, even though I can stream via BB, its still not the same. Info – any chance you could get a rip of Flex’s premier? I know most people want the CDQ, but im digging through the web for Flex’s premier instead…

i feel sorry for you because evidently the caliber of women you’ve interacted with in your life were so useless that the only way anyone would want to socialize with them was as “jump offs.” They must not have had any other redeeming value….like perhaps, a personality. OR…maybe you were the one who didn’t have any redeeming value in your character, SO you actually have women around you who are smart and personable….but you just aren’t equiped to deal with them. So you transfer your shortcomings onto me and whatever respect I’ve worked many many years to build in my profession.

I assume this track is for a mixtape or just a teaser to get the fans excited, so I won’t comment on the production other than saying I hope it gets a little more fluid.
With that said, this track is hard and I’ll definitely be bumping it…I do feel a hint of nostalgia hearing these three on a track together. There’s definitely a glimpse of that crazy chemistry that was overtly evident on almost all of those vintage dipset tracks.
