Miguel had social media buzzing on Monday, after an interview with The Sunday Times was published online. During the conversation, the “Adorn” singer was asked if he had any kind of relationship with fellow R&B artist Frank Ocean. “I wouldn’t say we were friends,” said Miguel. “To be completely honest—and no disrespect to anyone—I genuinely believe that I make better music, all the way around.” He later added “We’ll see who’s in it for the long haul, it’s like a marathon, you know?.”

As expected in today’s world of entertainment, always ready to blow things up, fans of Frank Ocean blasted the singer on social media and debates quickly formed as to which artist is better. Hours after the interview was made public, Miguel took to Twitter on Monday night, clarifying his comments without mentioning Ocean’s name. “There’s room for all artists,” later explaining “That’s what Wildheart is all about: celebrating individuality. I guess what I’m saying is, there’s no need to compare apples to oranges, there’s something out there for everyone.”
