Me…want….MacBook Air! (please?)
Posted by Miss Info under good for me , life beyond rap , photos[28] Comments
At the MacWorld convention this morning, Steve Jobs took out a regular manila envelope, legal size, and removed a real live Macbook Air, the world’s thinnest laptop. Here are the details. $1799, 13.3 inch screen, 5 hour battery, 2GB memory, separate superdrive for $99, built-in isight, multi-touch trackpad just like iphone, more environmentally friendly case and packaging……available in 2 weeks.

Yeah that dude is a showman for sure. That manila envelope presentation really captures the imagination. I swore that I wouldn’t get a laptop till Intel drops their quad-cores though.

vista is a joke. all of my friends who have it aren’t too happy with it. having a mac is like having a pc with out the issues. mac is the way to go.

man, is he. I just sent him an email dissing this thing to rile him up.
I feel you though. Right now, I have a Mac and my PC laptop on my desk. The Mac is gorgeous to look at, but it just sits here collecting dust.

@ MissInfo- a quad-core processor uses four different processors combined into one, allowing the processor to execute four tasks or threads at the same time. You probably have a Core 2 Duo, which kills my Pentium III- a quad-core is the next step and is amazing at processing graphic-intensive tasks. Intel’s been doing quad-cores for desktops and will drop notebook quad-cores in May.

macs are cool but most mac users are pc dropouts who were too dumb too figure out how to learn how to use their own computer.
difference between a pc user and a mac user is like the difference between a driver that is a mechanic and a driver that has a nice sound system and pretty wheels but can’t change the tires.

@delinq….ohhh, wow that sounds super fancy, lol. and $$$. If intel makes the quadcore in May, will that be for both mac and pc?
What graphic intensive tasks do you do? You meanlike playing computer videogames?
@ eskay….its mean to play taunt the Mac-nazi, lol. I’ve noticed that mac-users like all minorities are very defensive : )
Like I said, I’m that girl wearing the open-toe platform stilettos in the snow…but i do have one big gripe. Uh….why the hell can’t you make a stupid friggin plug that I can then use on my next mac! And why do these frigging powerplugs cost $80! ARGGH!
ok….im gonna go lie down now.

miss info…
what’s up babe..? a quad core is 4 intel processors in one chip, basically twice the speed of the processor in this one, and four times what was available in 2005, good for graphics, multitasking, etc, etc. They’re coming by summer
check my post on it, got a DOPE graphic too.

Not digging the how thin it is… plus women always tell me that they like it thick. Sorry I went there.

wow, so mac makes a laptop .7 of an inch thinner than the 1330 with base price, HDD, and CPU not even on par with the 1330 and you all go ga-ga. This is how Mac dupes the general public. “Ohh, its new and shiny, I want it!”
Only a fool would sacrifice service, durability and price and call themselves computer savvy.

That’s a good looking piece of tech. You know what? I think I’m finally gonna crossover. I need to see what the hype is all about. This will be my next computer (and my first mac). The price is right too.
Let’s see if the saying is true: once you go mac….

The fact that you have to spend an extra $99 on a superdrive just turns me off. I’d rather get a MacBook Pro and call it a day.

damn, my macbook was just a month shy of being a year old…..I honestly can’t keep up with apple.

Crap… after reading the specs I realized that it’s not worth the price. You’re better off getting a MacBook Pro. Air should be $899 but this is Apple we’re talking about here.

Damnit I already bought a MacBook and love it! For all the graphic designers, artists, musicians and guppy money spenders out there, Mac’s are where its at.
PC have one use for me, yes, video games where I shoot people in the face. COD4 is amazing!
