I think 50’s story is one that we all know backwards and forwards, but that doesnt mean that his Behind the Music isn’t revealing…if only because we get to see 50’s grandparents who were so instrumental in his story. The childhood sections of these specials are always my favorite…but besides that I feel like this recent run of hip hop subjects are just too current for the true “behind the music” treatment.

The fact that they are doing a behind the music on 50 Cent before his enemies and some of the other rappers is a story in itself, LOL!!
When you think of all the succes he’s had 50 is actually comfortable. Just like he got out of the crack game when things got ugly, he can get out of the rap game go shoot films, produce movies on that cheetah vision, sit back and do the CEO of G-Unit sh!t and have a great life not too many people can do that.

Which I’m kinda surprised that VH1 would do this considering that they were showing the Get Rich Or Die Tryin flick on the channel in the not so distant past. Besides the childhood flicks, if you look real close for a very small brief second you can see Fif show some emotion. When his grandfather speaks about telling 50 about his mother having to go away and never coming back, when they cut back to Fif and he mentions it, he looks down and for a brief second you can sense and kinda see a little boy missing his mother. Outside of that, the 50 story has been talked about ad nauseum. But no matter how many times you hear it, you are reminded how much of a interesting person 50 is. And how few interesting stars there are in hip hop. Who would you like to see a Behind The Music on?

50 has said in his track ‘wanksta’ that he DID a 3-9. Aint say anything about goin to shock for 6 months. That aint even jail, that aint even a baby bid yo.
Since I have 1st heard 50 interview with tech/sway(whatever his name is- the guy with the dreads from the west coast)on mtv. I have noticed that 50’s stories show some variations. hmmm.

The best aspects of these show are the friends and especially the family that rarely if ever get any camera time. We all know Banks and Yayo aren’t going to “cross the boss” but hearing from siblings and parental figures is real insight.

Knew the story but its so interesting it never gets old and you always feel like the best stuff isn’t being told. Seeing this with his family members being interviewed gives you a little better insight into 50. Nice to see.

The sad thing about this all, is that his past is more interesting then what he has done since 2005 and on…..it’s four years later and nobody talks about the massacre, curtis and the g-unit group records….I dont even hear those records getting any spins…..

Ironically, his interviews are some of the best, most informative and entertaining (how else would we know that Koch was a graveyard? lol) whether hes on HOT 97 or CNN.
I cant front, I’d rather here him say ‘actual’ and ‘harsh realities’ than ‘nah-mean’ and ‘ya’ dig’ all the damn time.

I saw this the other night, and i could not change the channel, i enjoyed this one the best. When he reiterated (sp) the story of the day he got shot, it was really sad, and it explains a lot of the reason behind why 50 goes so hard. I like him more as an artist now. He is in my top 3 fav rappers.
