Meanwhile…..Hov backs up his homie LeBron in a obvious mismatch

You can read all the particulars on this non-event here, here and here.
But here’s the only two parts of the story that I find entertaining…
Hov’s freestyle….
And Deshawn Stevenson’s taunt…(courtesy of omar)…..

I think it’s kind of lame, but I guess he wanted to get some promotion off of the nba playoffs. . . and he certainly did get attention.

Jay’s a legend to me, no question, but what was he thinking?! He says there are dudes in hiphop who aren’t worth going at…but he’ll go at this guy…with THAT many bars?!! I also heard he tried to stop it getting leaked and it was just for Lebron to play to people or something… but either way I don’t see why he even got involved! Lebron ain’t ya girl, he can handle himself! All we need is soulja boy to go against lebron….except chances are lebron would body soulja boy on wax

Whats said is jay-z can take the time to out to address this non issue for Lebron but he doesn’t have the cojones to address the Sean bell ruling….What is up with new york city artist…We have people from other parts of the world dropping songs about this ruling expressing how they feel. Game is dropping 911 is a joke tomorrow. ( Info hope you have that!) But no NYC artist has said a comment to date…I moved to Cali and I miss NY and New york hip hop, but shit like this dissapoints me..

I love how everybody is calling it a diss song about deshawn stevenson when he never says his name on it… I think it was more of freestyle for lebron than against deshawn…
@ Alboogie7……first of all a comment from any artist nyc or not will do NOTHING!!! for the sean bell case… and jay-z is actually the only hip-hop person to do anything for the bell family by putting the widow in the rocawear ads which gave her money and probably clothes for her and her daughter… but you dont care about that, you want nyc artist to call 106 & park and really change things…. right

@Alboogie7-
So because Jay Z hasn’t made his opinion public, that means he “doesn’t have the cojones” (pause)? Maybe he doesn’t care to comment on the issue. Maybe he just has had time to knock out a quick 32, but wants to take his time before rhyming about a serious issue.
Also, Jay-Z is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, just married to arguably the hottest woman in the R&B/hip-hop game, and is friends with the biggest rising superstar in the NBA.
If you are looming to Jay-Z as the voice of the streets, or a representative of the NY African American community you got another thing coming. He has as much in common with the lawyers representing the cops as he does with Shawn Bell.

I have to agree with what JR says, he did have his widow and his family in the RW ads plus what does the Sean Bell case have to do with a freestyle he did on the basketball playoffs? I mean the two things aren’t even related. I went to see jay-z on saturday night and some of the imagery he used was very political and moving about hurricane katrina. I still don’t know what that has to do with basketball?

Jay must have been bored.
Dissing Basketball players…SMH at that.
I liked how Stevenson reacted though, seems like a humble and reasonable guy to me.
It also seemed that LeBron had to call is buddy Jay because the bad Grinch-like Stevenson dissed him…Kindergarten anyone?
PS: someone call Killa Cam and tell him to comment on this one, I would love it just for the comic effect of his statement

CO SIGN Alboogie7 Sean Bell situation is more important than a ballplayer.
That being said rappers ain’t the law makers they don’t run the country more often they get victimized by the law enforcement. Hip-hop police is on em 24/7 and now they can get away with murder.
The lawmakers and political powers such as Hillary Clinton, Barack obama should address the situation coz this cannot happen again.
Police brutality affects everyone.

Niggas need to fall back… even though this record was sub-par and bout nothin and a disgrace to Jay’s legacy he’s still the most influential rapper alive… I agree if he could put out sub-par bars about a NBA player why not put something out about a true lyricist like Buddens (notice i don’t mention Cam as a lyricist), but this sounds like some just for fun off top shit… Its not that serious the Sean Bell tragedy shouldn’t even be mentioned under the same post as this track.

For everybody saying the Sean Bell situation is more important? JAY AGREES THAT’S WHY BEFORE THE TRIAL EVEN STARTED AND THE VERDICT CAME OUT HE WAS IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH NICOLE PAULTRE BELL (AND HER ATTORNEY OF COURSE) TO SET UP EDUCATION TRUST FUNDS FOR HER AND SEAN’S TWO YOUNG DAUGHTERS. Fuck a song–which wasn’t gonna do a damn thing action wise nor give Nicole and those babies any money. This man’s using his own money to take care of those kids because Sean’s unfortunately not here to do so. MUCH RESPECT TO MR. CARTER FOR THIS ONE! Just shows he really does have a heart and it’s made of gold.

Down here in DC, the song was played at Club Love. D and the rest of the Wizards will now boycott Love indefinitely. They’re going to party exclusively at Park from now on. Gilbert Arenas spent about $1mil on his birthday party at Love, so the club will definitely miss those Ace of Spade poppers.
Deshawn got pie-faced in our hometown. Damn shame.

WELL IF I HAD AS MUCH MONEY AS JAY Z I WOULD DO WHAT THE FUCK I WANNA DO. BE F0R REAL THE GUY HAS ALREADY SET THE BAR TOO HIGH FOR MUTHA FUCKAS TO TOUCH, SO IF HE FEEL THE NEED TO MAKE A RECORD THAT SOUNDS LIKE SHIT AND HAVE NO MEANING HE SHOULD FEEL FREE TO DO SO. LOOK HOW MUCH FEED BACK HE GOT OF A BULLSHIT SONG,ALL THE ATTENTION THE RECORD HAS IS PUTTING MONEY IN HIS POCKET. SO ALL YALL JAYZ HATERS NEED TO CHECK YOUR WALLET BEFORE YOU START HATING…………….
