Mariah Carey teaches the art of letting go on her new single, which doubles up as the title track to her upcoming 14th album. Despite being happily married with two children, Mimi channels the pain of a broken heart over the soulful, stripped-down production of Rodney Jenkins.

“There’s an emotion to it, as you listen to the song start to finish, that you can tell that it’s me,” Mariah told CNN. “It’s about letting go of maybe something that’s not right for you. But you just don’t know how to make that final move and let go of it. Like it’s not easy, it’s something that you have to learn how to do, and I think we’re all still learning.”

Also featuring the Miguel-assisted “#Beautiful,” The Art of Letting Go is slated for a release next year. Can we expect appearances from Nas, Wale, Hit-Boy and Mike WiLL Made It on the album, too?
