Mariah Carey was honored for her illustrious career at the 2012 BMI Urban Awards in Beverly Hills on Friday night. The R&B diva was named a BMI Icon during the ceremonies at the Saban Theatre. With husband Nick Cannon and manager Randy Jackson by her side, Mariah was honored with messages from the likes of Diddy, Pharrell Williams, and L.A. Reid, before Jermain Dupri played a set of all her hits.

Before thanking everyone in attendance for the prestigious award, Mariah was tributed by Joe and Fantasia with performances of her #1 hits “We Belong Together” and “Hero.”
