Maino Up close and Personal #6: Drugs destroys families

Out of all the self-generated propaganda from rappers, I enjoy Maino’s webisodes the most maybe because he’s more interesting to me outside of the music than in it. (Same may be true for Jim Jones, 50 Cent, and Snoop for me) Anyways, in this episode, Maino talks about growing up with drug addiction in the family. Very sombering. It feels like the guy has lived 3 or 4 livesĀ already.
(props to Nick the Executive, hope you find time for more of these.)

Gotta say that while I’m not the biggest fan of Maino’s music, he definitely seems like a good dude….
Hope he gets everything he deserves….now if we could just get him to stop hitting people….

thats the maino I thought was coming out
If he channels that energy he could be great
instead of slapping pop rappers
Theres something to be said of the Jay- blueprint that 50 has followed
If we can just get Maino to do the same because you can’t rap forever and it’s time for you to graduate to the next level
Either that or become a mythical hood figure that never made it like those basketball players that we all see in the hood that use to be the shit back in the day
thats all their left with is hood memories and folk talk
come one my dude where still waiting on you to grow up
you can do it trust me if Beanie Sigel can do it you can do it

This dude has had some life hardships and probably means what he says but as far as lyrically he has level 2 skills on a scale of 1 to 10. Tatoos, a prison record and tough talk doesnt mean ur a good rapper.
