Maino Addresses His Past Relationship With Lil’ Kim on “I Still Love You”

Earlier this morning, Maino dropped a heartfelt record from his upcoming mixtape, I Am Who I Am (Jan.26), with DJ Green Lantern. I couldn’t but help notice that his first verse sounds like he’s talking to Lil Kim. It’s been well documented that they once had a relationship.
New Music: Maino – “I Still Love You” (via RR)
“Everybody knew I took n*ggas to war for you/all the times you said the industry fake don’t let it fool me/The jewels that you dropped on the game you used to school me”
“I rolled with you straight to the jail that’s how I do/Kites to the joint expressing how much I love you/Still a queen even in greens”
“Things change/you came home and we moving different/emotions now getting involved/we in our feelings/fighting and we arguing shit we never used to do/ we don’t even speak no more/you was claiming I was using you”
I still love you though

It’s good that Maino has gotten this cross-over appeal because he’s not a lyrically-complicated dude and makes good poppy songs when he wants to (pop = cash). I drove past Albany Houses in BK and saw him driving a big black SUV, around the time “Hi Hater” was out and he was acting like he was still hugging the block, staring dudes down…by himself. Most rappers I’ve met in person only pretend to be “that dude” and that’s usually because they have about a hundred low-lives with them (re: all of dipset, and various others) but he really is that dude. LOL

True talk.. I seen Jim and Ju-Ju in person before and he had a bunch of dudes wit him, so seeing him mug wasn’t cool. I lost alot of respect for him and Ju-Ju after that

That’s how life is. People are in each others’ lives at a certain chapter, then unforeseen circumstances make us not speak or drift apart, then it’s almost as if we were never a part of the chapter. Weird, but happens to every body.

on the second verse he is talking about my uncle which is lil kim manager now, my uncle is very loyal. To say those negative things really upsetted my family. We was very close to Maino. He needs to grow up. And for the record Bezo(Lil Kim Manager) is not in a relationship with lil Kim. They are very close and thats why Maino mad.
