Mac Miller is bringing us closer to his day-to-day life beginning next year. The Pittsburgh MC has signed on with MTV2 for a six-part reality series documenting his move to the big city. The yet-to-be-titled show focuses on Miller and his Most Dope crew leaving their hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the bright lights of Los Angeles, California. Along with following the group on their new adventure, it’ll also showcase the making of Mac’s forthcoming Watching Movies With the Sound Off sophomore album, also due in 2013.
Mac Miller speaks on the new venture below….
“Yes, I have a show on MTV2. It’s very cool. Being an independent artist, I think it’s important to find different ways to bring attention to what you are doing. With Watching Movies coming out, I just want to do whatever I can to make sure everybody hears that.
The show is going to be cool, it’s a little look into my life … well, all the stuff you can show on TV. I have been living in my studio for months working on my album, so the show kind of forced me to get out of that room and go do something entertaining.”
Already in production, expect the reality show to arrive before the end of March according to TheHollywoodReporter. Recently Mac made Forbes’ 30 Under 30 musicians list, joining the likes of Justin Bieber, Adele, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, Rihanna, and Frank Ocean.
