lupe fiasco

The Kendrick Lamar responses continue to pour in — funnily enough, from MCs who weren’t even called-out on “Control.” After going on a Twitter rant, which included pretty hilarious impressions of what Rick Ross, Tyler, The Creator and Pusha T rebuttals would sound like (read them all on P&P), Lupe took to wax to properly respond to Kendrick with an all-new track, “SLR 2.” He doesn’t directly name-drop the Black Hippy, but Lupe went in.

Meanwhile, New York’s own Mickey Factz hopped on the original No I.D. beat for his own response. Not only dropping a mean rebuttal for Kendrick’s KONY claim — taking digs at “Swimming Pools,” his relationship with Lady Gaga and the good kid, m.A.A.d city album cover while he’s at it — Mickey also goes after the whole TDE crew with clever wordplay. And last, but not least, 16-year-old BK MC Astro borrows a tough beat from Statik Selektah to fire back at Mr. Lamar with “KONY.”
