LOST Untangled: Episode 6.12 “Everybody Loves Hugo” (and more)

again. so awesome. And I have to say Puppet Dr. Chang > Dr. Chang, not even close. (thanks to DoubleDeux for the link)
Now last night I attempted yet again to webchat while watching LOST. And this time, like a degenerative disease, things got even worse tech-wise. Last week, no audio. This week, no audio or video. So we just text-chatted like it was the mid-90s. Fail. However….the episode was still a good one, and thanks to the tried and true who endured with me : )
After the jump….theories, questions (Spoiler Alert if you havent watched last night’s ep by the way), and…..the true headcrack from last night, thanks to reader Gator…
This week’s “LOST Untangled” sums up the action, but there’s a few things they left out: the idea that The Island is purgatory for souls who are dead but cant move on. Like Michael. But can it be the cork and purgatory at the same time? And who else is a ghost on the island? Michael, Christian (was inhabited by Smokey)….is Ana Lucia there?
And then there’s the issue of Libby, Hurley’s unconsummated boo. A while back she seemed to represent some link to Hurley’s insane asylum days. But now she’s his constant or something. And when they kiss on the beach, it pulls him back the same way that Desmond touching Penny did. Speaking of Desmond, what the hell is up with his vehicular manslaughter attempt at the end?!?!?! And was it foul that I laughed out loud when Locke caught air?
I mentioned in the chat that it seems like Desmond was in charge of contacting all the Losties in the new timeline just like Jacob did back in the original timeline. (Ps: folks seems to think that they weird kid in the jungle is young Jacob)
Meanwhile: LOST castmember Jorge Garcia Reyes shared his thoughts on shooting his last Hurley-centric episode, and also revealed some of the cameos that were worked in. And Doc Jensen posted his weekly EW LOST recap, which is always a mental workout, lol.
BONUS: At the end of our chat, reader Gator….we were watching the trippy preview for next week’s LOST, when Gator pointed out that it featured a sample from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the GOAT original, of course), LOL! How awesome is that? This clip nearly gave me a seizure….

If you get killed in the alternate timeline, you can’t merge with the island timeline you when or if you get “off the island”
So, Locke getting hit by the car is to make sure when the time line’s merge, F.Locke will be stuck on the island forevvverrrr muahwhahahahhaa.
I think when Desmond got tossed down the well, something triggered in his off-island brain to seek revenge on Locke to make sure he cant get off the island. Destiny clicked again for the “off-islanders”…
and little boy is definitely jacob youth
i hope the last 2 hour finale is jacob explanation in hour one and man in black/f.locke hour two
i also think that the man in black is NOT the “bad guy” in all this.. i think jacob is wolf in sheeps clothing. and the man in black will get stuck on the island at the end, with us all hating jacob for keeping him there
the ghosts arent ghosts, their manipulations by the man in black or (in my opinion) jacob. no one’s trapped on the island, the same way the island isnt REALLY hell (ie. ricardo’s episode). its more lying to manipulate. Hurley CAN’T see the dead, he can only be manipulated because he’s the weakest mentally. Thats why he’s chosen to see dead people. Because everyone else would know that it’s impossible…he just thinks he’s special because he wants to be so badly..
not sayin im hundred percent, but i figured id throw my 2 cents out there..

I’m thinking that where that little boy showed up – that would have been Walt as the reincarnation of Jacob (if he didn’t get too old and get written out).
I’m not obsessed or anything – it’s just that after hearing Micheal screaming “Walt! Walt! Where’s my boy!” every 10 minutes in the early episodes I just wanted to get a little closure on in. I’m now content.
Too bad I missed the chat.

Hold on, let me get this straight…you were trying to do a webchat DURING the programme?? Is that some kind of joke??
Please tell me this is not true. You can’t even wait until a show has FINISHED before chatting to others about it?? Why the hell would you want to do anything other than WATCH a programme???
And why the hell would anyone be interested in chatting with you while they are watching a programme? And why would you be interested in what they are saying when you are trying to concentrate on a television programme??
Please explain to me the point in this completely pointless exercise. I really am at a loss here.
This really takes self-expression and putting your whole life on display far beyond vanity and into some new super egomania territory. I despair

1) Lol @ Lea Perrins accusing Inf of going into “super egomania territory” when any regular visitor of this website or anyone who has been on LOST webchat with her obviously knows that is not the case. Since she’s too modest to respond to your comments I will explain.
2) We webchat while the show is on because with a show like LOST it is good to have people to bounce ideas and theories off of. There is a lot going on on the show. Some people might catch something that someone else didn’t. Miss Info doing the webchat basically provides a meeting place for us LOST fans to discuss whats happening on the show. I’m pretty sure she doesn’t do it for any egotistical reason LMAO.
3) I think that we are all capable of doing two things at once. It is possible to watch TV and type on a computer at the same time…In fact it’s not hard at all. Like Info said, if it’s not for you then don’t join in!! I just had to clear those little things up.
Inf keep the webchat going! We should definitely have it every week until the end of the show.

That “Willy Wonka” sample is also used on the Jay Electronica song “When The Levees Broke.” I was geeked when I saw the “LOST” preview as well.

If the island is purgatory, which I doubt, that means that Michael is not the only Lostie whose spirit is stuck on the island. Boone, Shannon, Charlie, Ana-Lucia, Libby, Eko, Paolo, Nikki, Sayid, Sun, Jin, Tom, Juliet, Daniel, Charlotte, Frank and others are all stuck on the island.
