New Music: LL Cool J Feat. Chuck D, Travis Barker, Tom Morello & Z-Trip “Whaddup”
Posted by Andy B. under new music[2] Comments
After rocking the Staples Center with an electric live performance at The Grammys last night, LL Cool J brings us the CDQ (and more headphone-friendly) version of his new Authentic single, “Whaddup.” Bolstered by an all-star, multi-genre lineup of Public Enemy number one Chuck D, blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, RATM’s Tom Morello and LL’s touring DJ Z-Trip, this track is an amalgamation of thrashing punk rock and hip-hop rawness — and a concerted step-up from the poorly-reviewed “Ratchet” (which may or may not be dropped from LL’s aforementioned upcoming LP). You can watch last night’s performance of “Whaddup” (which was dedicated to the late Beastie Boy, Adam “MCA” Yauch) here and purchase the single on iTunes here.
LL Cool J’s 13th studio album, Authentic, is due out May 17 via S-BRO Music Group.
Listen to “Whaddup” after the jump…
