Lil Wayne Talks Politics and Tea Party Debate: “The Republicans Are Never Going to Like Us”
Posted by Gabz under Hmmm? , Life Beyond Rap , Quotes[32] Comments
Lil Wayne talked to VIBE about Monday’s CNN Tea Party debate and whether the GOP views expressed during the live session were related to him:
“You learn from what the right-wing is doing and you take something from it. I feel like as a people the most that we can do is better ourselves and learn. Then look at yourself and ask ‘Am I the person they’re talking about or am I not?’ You have to make the most of who you are because the Republicans are never going to like us.”
Keith Murphy, who conducted the interview, continued:
Wayne added that the right-wings’ at times blatant disrespect of the oval office has more to do with Obama’s racial make-up than his policies. He admits that while he understands the criticism over the President’s handling of the economy, he says some of the talk has gone beyond politics. “I don’t think I have to say that for everybody to know that,” Wayne says.

All the Republicans want out of the Democrats is for them to not be a drain on society nor the economy. Those who live off of the government are just that. Obama is trying to make the government bigger and that is not what the founding fathers had in mind. What Obama is doing has been done and failed in other countries.
I’m sorry but, I am not down with lazy, up to no good individuals. I love the America we once had and hope we get back to it.
Screw people who are fine with taking the governments money and providing nothing but more deficit.

Info great post…
As for the comment well, I think wayne is a little off.. Its not that they dont like “us” I personally think its an ideological debate. They want to have an ideological debate at a time when we have to make some tough decisions in order to not fall apart as a super power and “they” think that its all talk like its always been but right now its really not. Our schools are falling behind, our dollar is weak, our infrastructure is ancient and in schools we are preparing the masses for jobs that no longer exist while acting like we are confused why the unemployment rate will continue to rise and possibly get higher.. Changes in those area will take money and gov. intervention but a silly ass republican will ignore those facts and hang on to the one code of repuke ideology they can in order to keep an argument going and feel right. Look at our levy system compared to the rest of the world, look at our rail system compared to those in Europe and Asia its laughable how far behind we are falling.. Now do Americans live a better quality of life than poor people in other countries, sure we do but that’s not the point! The point is that if we keep fucking our people over it will destroy the fabric of what we have here, our ability to produce goods needed around the world, which creates jobs and earn us money. We have to begin evolving and we aren’t we are stuck in mudd. The working poor is being reduced to poverty, the middle class is becoming the working poor and the rich, well, those mother fuckers are doing pretty damn good.. Patriotism is a trick to fool poor people into giving more while the rich are only loyal to self and the mighty dollar.. If the rich feels the need to protect this country it can be the best in the world but they only want to rape it for all they can get.. Either you feed the wolves or the wolves will feed on you!

I also wanted Obama to succeed so badly. It would have been good for race relations in America, but it/he has had the complete opposite effect.
September 13th, 2011 at 3:53 pm
People dont want handouts dumbass they want opportunities..And its those with assets and power job to create those opportunities.. How the fuck can an under-educated group of poor people create their own opportunities? Sell Crack, rap, play sports? The cost of living is going up while the amount of income people can generate has never been lower..
Real talk I bet your being fucked over by the same ideology you feel the need to protect and your dumbass dont even know it.. You will wake up one day without the securities your hard work and tax dollars were suppose to provide you and say THIS IS FUCKED UP! And even worse you will not be fit for the work force thats being created.. Do you know that there are people out there in their 50’s who cant get a decent paying job? Fuck those losers right?
September 13th, 2011 at 4:00 pm
On the contrary! As bad as you think Obama has looked he’s made white men and their selfish, self serving ways look even worse! I watch these tea bag parties and they are talking about Regan every single chance they get and I cant help but to wonder if they even know how out of touch they are. They are appealing to 50-60+ year old white people by calling their social security a ponzi scheme and suggesting we take away their health insurance lol really, thats the way to go? The leading republican your boy Romney has Romney care but some how its ab baad thing if a democrat wants to do it for everyone hahahah
Obama is a little soft but he is doing a hell of a job and will only do better his second term.. Because like it or not he’s made it impossible for a 50+ year old elite white male to get elected president for a long time.. A progressive republican will win but there isn’t one!
September 13th, 2011 at 4:07 pm
I can say I agree with him 50/50. i dont pay any attention to hardly anything he has to say. however since i dont see the post or havent look far enough yet. can we just talk about his lil emotional tirade with the audience member not too long ago….REALLY!!! hes totally lost it
September 13th, 2011 at 4:29 pm
Slow in headlines but not in substance. This might be the most thoughtful thing Lil Wayne has ever said; rappers usually shy away from politics besides an occasional endorsement or a Kanye West outburst on national t.v. lol
Makes you think though what is really his Lil Wayne stance on social matters. we all know Lil Wayne is in a republican tax bracket of course; so if his views are still organically with the left (democratic party) maybe he might have some righteous bones left in his body. Also I’m sure growing up in a New Orleans ward it has provided him a vivid understanding how unequal this country is in regards to social benefits and dollars.
Republicans will never be for tax breaks that favor the middle class because they have individualistic beliefs which is all good for capitalistic reasons but wrong for society as a whole.
September 13th, 2011 at 4:34 pm
I agree @stevekim; at this point I’m just fed up with congress as a whole. I think the picture is bigger than democrat vs republican its about social class it has turned into the rich vs middle class (soon to be poor). I feel your view but what I don’t understand is why wont republicans agree to contribute ( tax breaks for middle class and corporate taxes reduction) or help out the same people (middle class) that provided them with the structure needed to help them become successful.I don’t want this country to become the new Sweden but to not help the same people that encouraged and contributed to your flight and the ability for you to get to another tax bracket I just cant side with.
Fact: 1% of the wealthy population owns 38 % of the us economy dollars. Numbers don’t lie the inequality is nail biting!!!
September 13th, 2011 at 4:41 pm
Although I highly disagree with your “individualistic” statement i do agree with you on Obama’s need to strategically create jobs ;Do i think spending more tax dollars will do that? not sure; but refurbishing the country’s infrastructure and education isn’t a bad way to spend in my opinion its long over due and will surely help w/job creation. Its shameful that 0 Jobs were created in the month of august. Never mind the double dip recession the middle class is in a full blow depression. I sense and see desperation all over NYC.

I was baffled when Ron Paul made that comment about the motives behind 9/11 and everyone in the audience snickered and booed him. Like, really? They really think the terrorists attacked the US because they didn’t like our culture and not because we’ve been doing the same shit in the middle east for the past decade plus? Ron Paul is the only politician who makes sense to me so I’ll be voting for him.
As far as Obama, I think the man has good intentions. It’s just the idiots in Congress who can’t for one second prioritize the American people ahead of their own selfish needs. It’s hopeless. America is doomed.
September 13th, 2011 at 5:19 pm
I recently had a conversation with a man who I’m assuming was in his mid 30’s, after complaining about the poor job market he explained to me that he was struggling to find a job and refused to go back to his $50 an hour union job because it was too much work.
Trust me i know way too many well deserving people who are struggling in this world, I also know three times as many who’d rather sit home and collect a check. With out any sarcasm, I do appreciate your desire to defend our people though and would hope you could focus it in a more positive way, I’m sure we all know we need more of it.
September 13th, 2011 at 5:43 pm
Here are the real stats, “the richest 1 percent of Americans have more financial wealth than the bottom 95 percent combined.” Currently 400 Americans — 400 –have more wealth than half of all Americans combined..Thats roughly 150million people hahahah!! SICK!
The congress is so busy running for elections TO KEEP THEIR SIX FIGURE JOB that they never take time to learn or care about governing. They don’t care about governing or doing what’s best for our Union as a whole. At some point they have to start doing what’s best for the country instead of catering to the fringe elements of both sides in order to get re-elected..
Republicans keep trying to make this about helping a certain group of people, Its not about helping people it’s about strengthening our country and coincidentally in the process people just might benefit from some of the changes made.. The primary focus is not to take care of people it’s to take care of and improves the finances of the country and you really can’t do that without accidentally helping Americans in the process.. the democrats are selling this by aiming to strike a human cord with the masses, saying “hey let me help you and this will help you”. While the general principle of what they are attempting to do main purpose is to improve the countries production rate and generate money.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:29 pm
I really dont think its about poor or lazy people.. I really think this debate is about the rich people who feast on our free market system and then hide behind republican talking points to avoid doing their part.. The ecconomy collapsed and we rushed to their aid with tax payer dollars and now there is a big deficit and they dont want to do their part.. They dont want to pay more taxes or hire more people its a classic cluster fuck! They wrote less loans after getting bailouts then they did before the economy went to shit. We have to blow up the entire republican party by putting progressive forward thinking people in office and force their miserly asses to do their part..Because if left up to them they will continue to cry broke..
The super rich needs to pay more taxes and accept tax breakes for hiring more people and older people.. They also need to take responsibility for this country as the place where they live and not just as a place they rape for money because out politicians can be bought by lobbiest… If the top 1% do their part all would be fine but wait we cant tax private jet owners because its against republican principles.. THIS SHIT IS REAL FUCKING STUPID!! We all live here! Either you feed the wolves or the wolves feed on you!
September 13th, 2011 at 6:40 pm
@SteveKim, Maybe the uneducated might think about getting educated and learning about being a legal entrepreneur. Yes, it is going to take some effort to do such a thing as get an education, we can’t just hand it to you like you would like.
Also Steve, quit blaming all peoples trials and tribulations on others. That crap has gotten old and ridiculous.
September 13th, 2011 at 7:46 pm
Look at his face, do you think any of his fans even vote?
September 13th, 2011 at 8:08 pm
$50 DOLLARS AN HOUR!!! im fom england but thats a decent paying job right there.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:00 pm
wow thats really all you have to say hahahah okay!
I dont want anyone to hand anything to me… My money good! I have my degree from a major University and I support several others so dont assume to know my personal situation..And I never blamed anyones trials on anyone else I just read everything I wrote over and over again and never saw anything that suggest that group “x” is in a bad position due to the actions of group “y” so why dont you stop hiding behind plastic talking points that dont apply to SHIT and deal with the real world you fucking moron…
The country is fucked up because rich cry babies dont want to do their part to help build up the country they like to suck dry…Thats the only blame I will always cast.. If they pay taxes we can make up to 300 million a year, lets start their!
September 14th, 2011 at 12:27 am
LOL! Good one
September 14th, 2011 at 12:48 am
I see both of you are very passionate about this topic which is good cause discussion/debate is better than acting like it doesn’t exist. Again I see both steve kim (social ideals)and coolin (individual morals) as both valid p.o.v’s; but this “let them fend for themselves its a free market” attitude along side frivolous spending is the reason this country is in a double dip recession. Now that Obama has proposed a Job act bill for congress with the tax breaks republicans wanted; lets see if they will approve. Hes calling republicans on their bluff. this bill is a “put up or shut up” reality call. I really hate to say it but i agree with Lil Wayne. Republicans don’t care about the American people never have never will. They value monetary substance more than they do society as a whole.

Just to put it in perspective when the economy is bad enough (which it clearly has been) is their such a moment that you want to cut taxes that should have been cut? : direct subsidies ; getting rid of loop holes to stimulate the economy by raising taxes on people that make over 250 k a yr is not a far fetched idea by Obama.
why not raise there taxes to broaden the economy? this is my problem with the republican philosophy and mainstream America : so its o.k that you receive compensation and loop hole perks when you’re rewarded when you win big because you take a bigger risks; but when you lose the middle class should have to pay for your lost with tax dollars? so when you win you receive the rewards but when you lose the burden falls on tax dollars? see anything wrong with that picture.
enough is enough pay your share you take bigger risks you pay bigger taxes period. Don’t put the burden on the working class and campaign because Obama wants to cut your loop hole tax breaks by raising them!
September 14th, 2011 at 7:14 am
All of what your saying is Republican/Conservative talking points…tell me in what country has his policies/ideas failed?
Who are you to call people lazy? What’s the unemployment rate in this country? and what percentage of the unemployed are minorities?
Obama to me has been a big disappointment, not because of policies but because of substance and heart. He’s not respected as the president and he seems to be ok with that…
September 14th, 2011 at 7:55 am
WHAT ARE THE NUMBERS THIS WEEK. IF THERES A DECLINE OF FIFTY PERCENT OR MORE THAN WE CAN START THE TALK ABOUT HOW GOOD THE ALBUM IS OR WASN’T. THEY HE SALE I/2 A MILL? MORE OR LESS? ON THE SECOND WEEK.
September 14th, 2011 at 8:13 am
Infratructure should be the most entertaining idea… This countries infra: highways, streets, road, parkways, turnpikes, bridges tunnels etc are dilapitating. 50 years from now if nothing is done our children and their children would be solely responsible for the rebuilding of AMERICA the once most powerful counrty in the world. Lets take care of all USA INFRATRUCTURE now before it becomes to late and very costly… Its expensive NOW imaging 50 years from now.. Why cant we pass the jobs bill, begin the hiring process in every state etc. you can put 1/2 million to 1 million back to work.. Hopefully if this would pass they can put restrictions on who gets hired and any company hiring illegals before us citizens or us residents will be penalizing.
September 14th, 2011 at 9:24 am
@hiphop I agree with you 100%… I want Obama to be a little stronger and go hard in the motherfuckking paint but I’m sure he’s been told to not come off as an angry black man so he is balancing everything on a tight fence.. I couldnt imagine what its like to be him right now but if he gets a second term he will be much more aggressive, NO MORE MR. NICE GUY!
But with that said he’s accomplished more from a policy standpoint in 4yrs than alot of other presidents.. Look at what he did for minor drug charges, student loans, healthcare etc etc. He’s done ALOT! The bills might not have been as robust as they needed to be in order to be completely effective but if you watch closely he seems to slip everything that was missing from previous bills in other bills over time… He’s doing okay and now that he’s starting to talk a little shit he’s getting even that much better…
September 14th, 2011 at 10:45 am
It’s campaign time so of course he sounds agressive, and inspiring, but actions speak louder than words. He’s just a figure head imo for now.
He’s a politician, and a good one at that, I just think he needs to show a little bit more leadership rather than just the driver taking directions from evryone around him
September 14th, 2011 at 12:49 pm
@SteveKim: Your not very smart. Keep being angry clown boy.
September 14th, 2011 at 1:55 pm
angry clown boy? lol “boy” hahaha I’m not very smart but yet you’re the one who resorted to personal attacks hahaha….
You Mad!
September 14th, 2011 at 5:33 pm
So many invested so much into Their One and now he’s not only a complete failure as a president, but he’s also on the fastrack to becoming a national joke. Supporters like Lil Wayne have nothing positive to defend him with and so they’re shattered, broken, hurt, desperate…
This isn’t a cry of racism, it’s a cry for help from those disillusioned by the fact that the oceans did not rise.
Lil wayne is just ignorant and unenlighted, that is all.
September 14th, 2011 at 6:26 pm
I tried to not laugh cause I am an Obama supporter but your religious acronyms are hilarious lol I do agree with this much though it isn’t about race its about society; least I hope that’s what lil wayne was referencing with the “they don’t like us” remark.
September 14th, 2011 at 8:43 pm
Lil Wayne said that republicans dont care about “us” and that somehow makes him “unenlightened” and “ignorant” its sad that black entertainers have no value other than to shut up and keep white people entertained, sad!
And I think the only running joke I can think of is the tea baggers, republicans, hypocrite fake conservatives and those who scream blood murder when a proposal to tax private jet owners is mentioned.. Oh and John Boner is a JOKE!! Anyone who screams LET THEM DIE IS A FUCKING JOKE!!
Sarah Palin talks about being against pre-marital sex with a teenage parent living under her roof and proof that she was getting her back blown out by some 6’8 NBA dude back in the day weeks before she was married.. Wait so what are republican values again? Lie at all cost and don’t get caught and when you do get caught lie more…Regan would be so proud..Then again his son is a gay democrat!! WTF is wrong with people man!
I guess our values are just different..
September 16th, 2011 at 2:08 pm
Republicans aren’t without fault, but if you want to attack morality we can talk about how Bill Clintion got head in the oval office or Ted Kennedy letting a young girl drown to death or John Kerry trying to stop a black man from being on the supreme court.
