Following TMZ’s controversial reports of Lil Wayne being on his deathbed after suffering more seizures, Birdman called into Angie Martinez to set some of the facts straight. He says that he was present when Wayne had his seizure, and that they were preparing to head out to a video shoot when it happened. Birdman says from past experiences, he knew immediately to just lay Wayne down and call 911, and despite reports of Wayne having high amounts of codeine in his stomach, Baby also vehemently denies his seizures were drug related. The Cash Money boss attributes his seizures to his relentless work ethic and schedule. Currently, Birdman says Wayne is still in the hospital and has not left since being admitted on Tuesday night. He maintains that Weezy is resting up, is being watched 24/7 by doctors, and should be home in the next few days. As far as TMZ’s reports about Weezy being in a coma, Baby also says that was completely untrue.

“It didn’t have nothing to do with drugs, “Birdman tells Angie. No such thing like that. To me, it’s how he works. He works around the clock, he’s just a hard grinder for this music. But it wasn’t nothing about no drugs. He just needs to get some rest and relax. He’ll be back normal like anybody else.”

Update: Mack Maine and Birdman tweeted that Lil Wayne has been released from the hospital.
