10.Plies(This nigga sucks, but from the way MTV did their list last time, I think he gon’ make it. He had a mediocre album.
9.Lupe(The Cool was the best Rap/Hip-Hop album of ‘07/’08. He good with me.)
8.Jay(He had the Roc Boys joint poppin’ off real big. American Gangster was a decent album. He’s worth close to $800M. Need I say more?)
7.T.I.(He had a great year in ‘07. The gun charge situation fucked him up a lil’ bit, but he bounced back quick. He got a couple joints he featured on that’s hot in the streets. I heard a couple tracks off Paper Trail too. TIP is Da King Of Da South.)
6.Ricky Ross(His album is great. He got Da Boss joint poppin’ off real big right now. He doin’ his thing. Much respect to Da Boss.)
5.Jeezy (Jeezy has been real consistent. He been gettin’ a lot of features in the past year. Honestly, when he first came out, I thought he was a one-hit wonder with “And Then What”, but he really proved himself. I heard the two new joints off his upcomin’ album. Jeezy is holdin’ it down.
4.Kanye(Not a huge fan of this dude, but you gotta give it to him. He got swag for years. He had a decent album. He lost his mother(R.I.P Ms. Donda West), but he ain’t let that interfere with his music, so I gotta respect him for that. His lyrical ability sky-rocketed since Late Registration. Love his flow. Yeezy is killin’ ‘em right now.
3.Weezy(Last year’s illest MC. He still woulda been the illest MC this year if 50 & Da Unit ain’t been shuttin’ shit down. I’m really sick of hearin’ this dude at this point, but you gotta give it up for him though. He brings it on every verse. His metaphor game is reckless. We ain’t hear a album from him in years now, but his featured tracks are great. Weezy F Baby! Please Say Da Baby!)
2.Da Unit(Bank$ & Yayo)(On a mixtape level, they shut it down so far this year. They was killin’ the streets with the Return Of The Body Snatchers jump-off, then they hit ‘em even harder with the Elephant In The Sand joint. These dudes been puttin’ the work in hard-body out here. They overseas makin’ a quarter million a show. They got the Rider 2 & I Like The Way She Do It killin’ NY right now. Da Unit is back.
1.50(The biggest music superstar of all-time, in my opinion. He’s sold over 30 million records in his short career. He’s had the two biggest mixtape this year with his crew, and he is killin’ the streets with his two new joints. Did I mention he’s worth close to $400M? Need I say more? 50 Cent is the fuckin’ man!)
