Lil Wayne on VH1’s “Behind the Music” (full show)

This show does such an amazing job of covering the storyline of music’s most compelling stars. I think the older shows were a bit more illuminating than the later episodes, but that may be because the later artists (especially the hiphop ones) are just more savvy about the attraction of their own drama…But either way, I enjoyed Behind the Music: Lil Wayne. Quality writing, editing, archival footage, especially the photos. Good TV.
Part 2 and 3 after the jump….

Very good piece, but shouldn’t they at least wait a couple more years. All this success happened like last year.

Isn’t the timeliness what makes it relevant and interesting? If they put this out in 3 years, you’d be all like “Man, Lil Wayne is so 2008.”

Very Good Show… I kinda miss these and I’m kinda happy they are doing success stories instead of death or burnout redemption stories…
Waynes life seems Interesting not nearly as thugged out as he portrays BUT he had some challenges… You know they say its a hood everywhere and there are real niggas everywhere which is so true so many people have come up hard hell harder had to sell a little weed or dope or whatever to survive.. thats life for some!
While a tour bus isn’t a luxurious life for a 14yr old he has pretty much lived on one for the last 13+ years and hasn’t been forced to see that really bad life or environment he was raised up in for all of 11 or 12 years haha but thats the beauty of hip hop when done apparently PERFECT anyone can tell the story of the disenfranchised if you have a few war wounds…I respect him for being real with himself and staying true to whats in his heart and not trying to be anything but Dwayne Carter, wish the same could be said about Shawn Carter!
Kudos to the kid…

Nope. Just thought it was strange to see what appears to be a homosexual man representing a homophobic rapper…
No homo.

Maybe, just maybe one day Wendy Day will get her props in one of these success stories that she played a MAJOR role in. At least some of us know what’s up. What’s good Wendy?!

Aint it sweet when you sell your soul to the devil. This is what little kids want to be like if so in we in for it. There is nothing positive about this guy man he lives a fictional life and make it seems real. Yeah katrina hit home but get over it dude. That’s all he’s been riding. Dude i’m from Jamaica and I lived through countless hurricanes but I don’t dwell on it and make it seem like its the biggest thing in my life.

Yeah, get over your whole city under water and people/ friends dying! What’s wrong with him? His charity they mentioned was hardly positive… right?
VH1 should hit YOU up and do a biography about your countless hurricane experiences and self righteousness.

get over yourself for 2 seconds will ya?
Im from Jamaica, born and raised in Jamaica, yes we’ve had hurricanes but none come close to what happened in New Orleans and if you dare challenge me I’d like you to list which Hurricane came close to Katrina and please dont say hurricane Gilbert ok? thanks.
btw – it doesnt even matter which is worse, fact is, ppl lost their lives and if he wants to speak on that till the day he die, then he’s allowed. Dont see how its affecting you anyway. if you dont wanna hear it dont listen, as simple as that

He has been in the public eye for over 13+ years now…it’s very hard to believe he’s done or been through anything that he raps about. I was a Lil’ Wayne fan up until about when the “Lollipop” single came out, but now i think people give him waay too much credit. Is he a talented rapper? Of course he is, but he sure as hell ain’t nice enough on the mic to deserve all this attention and all the praises he’s receiving from the media. I don’t even think he’s better than Ludacris. He’s better than Drake…but not Ludacris.

Man yall trippin! Yall need to see him live to know why he is what he is right now! its called an entertainer who gives the people what they wanna hear! u cant even doubt that he gets the job done!!
im would say that jay-z is the best rapper alive! BUT, wayne is much younger and way more hungry than any other dude thats out right now! Ludacris is dope as hell but he aint an entertainer! i saw both of the live, ludacris was way better on the mic than wayne, but he was boring! how can u be boring with tracks like that?!wayne can perform any song and people are goin nuts!!
im down with wayne since 500 degreez and im gonna keep listening to him cuz hes a fuckin genius!!
drake gon be the next rapper in line, afther wayne!
