It’s another of those no-holds-barred Tim Westwood shows….this time, my cross-the-pond homie gets a visit from Lil Wayne and Baby…
And Tim sent over this exclusive sneak peek:
Clip 1: Tim asks Weezy about the big “styrofoam cup” debate….and Wayne gets mildly worked up into a froth when Tim congratulates him on allegedly moving from an opiate to alcohol.

I think that Weezy was forced off the cup by a person of prominence such as a doctor, his mother, or the people at Universal. As a result, I think that he expressed his frustration at the homie Tim because he couldn’t do it via any other medium.
On a side note, I wonder why the environmentalists aren’t all over Weezy for using styrofoam, especially given his recent popularity, ubiquity, and omnipresence? It’s not biodegradable.

you go after both…but the consumer has more power collectively than the producers and marketers. If you disagree with a product’s use because of whatever reason don’t purchase the product. Go farther by informing others as to why you don’t agree with a product’s use and garner support. Also i don’t know how calling someone an idiot(which you spelled incorrectly) is constructive.

Wayne gives an uproarious defense of the cup. He says it made him pick up the guitar and start using autotune. These two things were of course the main elements that lead to the decline in the quality of his music. Listen to Dedication 2 and then Dedication 3. Such a precipitous drop off.
Unfortunately his own thesis is shaky. He was cupped out during his peak (Carter 2, Dedication 2, Drought 3 and all those features) and was, I believe, recently without the cup during his nadir (Post Carter 3, Dedication 3, all those features). So yeah, start sipping that death again.
PS “suck my cup” is hilarious.

Evil_D, that’s not actual fact. I speak what I know and I know what I speak. Before that era, everyone was using “bible paper”, corner bodegas barely sold Blunts/White Owls before the early 90s. if they did, it was for old men who couldn’t get their hands on good quality cigars. I can’t even remember seeing those boxes behind the counter before the early 90s. Name one album that mentiions smoking weed in a cigar wrap from the 80s fam, I would love to do the knowledge. Otherwise speak on what you know.
Murder is not the connection, it boils down to how much Power a person has to influence the masses!
Hitler didn’t have to commit murder with his bare hands, he was able to influence people to do it for him. Lil Wayne doesn’t have to force anyone to drink anything, all he has to do is say, I got where I’m at because of the stuff I drink out of a foam cup and that alone is enough to influence the young kids. All they see is the “Money, the cars, the clothes and the Hoes” and He’s telling us, he got that because of the codeine in his cup…if you can’t see that as a influence then I don’t know what to tell you.

i dont know what wayne is talking about.hes lucky he really blew up in the height of his drug addiction. his music has suffered horribly in the last 3 years, i havent heard anything hot fomr him at all. the carter 2 is the end for me. the autotune was the biggest cover up for his lack of creativity. he just over rapped himself by putting out 1,000 tracks a year. im tired of hearing half brained punchlines. just because he hired some white guy to write some fucked up rock songs about high school does not make him a versatile artist.

I agree, he is not even close to what alot of rappers have done lyricaly. But he has built his popularity like crazy. I spent 7 months all around europe and believe it or not, everyone knew and was obsessed with wayne. I know im going to keep listening to him even though i dont agree with some points. But its what he does and thats what makes me so interested in what he does, cuz you dont know what his next move will be.

You know, i do admire these guys success and enjoy Wayne’s music but it’s hard to watch these guys flying around the world in G4’s(or 5’s? lol) carrying millions in diamonds and spending all that money when we at home are so broke and hurting. I believe that wayne has a horrible effect on a generation of people. Immorality and reckless behavior shouldn’t be promoted under the guise of art(music). And the fact that he and others are profiting from a destructive product makes his actions even worst. Responsibility to society begins with personal decisions. Maybe if we as a society stop lookin at success in terms of dollars and cents and start rewarding behavior that promotes human excellence then we can move foward.
