The 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards returned to Austin, Texas during SXSW last Thursday night. Airing on Sunday night, Lil’ Wayne opened this year’s event by performing his 2008-hit song “A Milli” and kicked a freestyle towards the end. Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX rocked the crowd with their collaboration “Fancy,” while rapper-actor Childish Gambino closed the show with a medley of “3005” and “Sweatpants.”

The biggest winner of the evening went to Drake, who ran away with the “Woodie of the Year,” which celebrates the artist that completely owned the past 12 months. Since the Canadian superstar couldn’t make it, Lil’ Wayne accepted the award on behalf of Drake. Other winners included Beyoncé, A$AP Rocky and Skrillex, Chance the Rapper, and Ed Sheeran.
