News arose earlier this week that Lil’ Wayne’s long-awaited The Carter V album would be arriving very soon, possibly as a surprise. Now, a release date has been revealed from the man himself.

Appearing on stage as Drake’s special guest at Sprite’s NBA All-Star concert at New Orleans’ House of Blues, Lil’ Wayne announced on stage that Tha Carter V will arrive on May 5. “Carter V May 5th, that’s all we focused on,” said Drake before performing “HYFR” with Weezy.
