lil boosie

Lil Boosie’s finally coming home. After months of speculation, with rumors previously suggesting he’d be freed towards the end of this year, NOLA reports that a date has been set for the Baton Rouge rapper’s release from prison: August 18, 2014. Boosie has been incarcerated since 2009 for a marijuana possession charge and a probation violation, during which time, in 2011, he plead guilty to attempting to smuggle narcotics into prison.

With Rick Ross unofficially putting a million-dollar MMG deal on the table, it’ll be interesting to see how Boosie’s career will pick up when he’s finally a free man again.

UPDATE: According to Lil Boosie’s brother, Taquari Hatch (who also serves as his manager), the rapper could be home as early as February. Hatch told NOLA that Boosie’s current release date is in fact May 16 thanks to him completing a substance abuse class. That date could be moved up to February 16 if he completes two further classes.

According to Hatch, a slow down in the paperwork process at the Louisiana Department of Safety and Corrections was the reason for the false report.
