Well next Friday is MTV News’ Hottest MCs countdown show. So lets all schedule in “outrage and indignation” for 10pm, lol….
No matter whos on the list, and in what order, we all know we’re gonna disagree with something. The only question is…to what extreme?
Rick Ross at #1? I’m rioting. Andre 3000 at #1? An unrealistic dream. Hov anywhere near in the top 5? Something fishy.
By the way, you can vote for the reader’s poll here. But be warned, some of the very names on that list will piss you off, hahaa. (read Rocko)

The fact that Soulja Boy was even mentioned in this discussion lets me know this is gonna be some bullshit. The dude said he had talent cause 3 mil bought the ringtones? WTF?
Ringtones= Talent? Since when?
Oh yeah, and how are the measures ones hottness? Is it off the overall package? Is it off of hype/popularity? Is it off of record sales? Is it off of just the person as a rapper (minus the swag, i hate that word)?

I must say that after reading all the comments on here (yes I actually read what everyone has to say) I think that that little clip was just a peek of the BS that will be displayed. I must ask whats the exact criteria of what makes a Hot MC for a calender year? I mean does it count if you didn’t come out with an album but you were on the tops of the list(lil wayne)? Cuz one could argue that you will always come hardest on a feature then an album, cuz you don’t have to come up with much more then afew bars. Someone please explain to me whats going on.

i really cant believe some of the names on that list. Shawty Lo, Rocko, Gucci Mane?!?!?
and about the joe budden comment some1 made, i love joe budden but im kinda shocked hes on the list 2, i think he has great lyrics but not 2many people are checkin for him right now.

A lot of ya’ll don’t understand the difference between what’s “hot” and who’s the “best”. Yes, guys like Andre 3000, Joe Budden, Common, Lupe, etc. are gonna be over looked but that cuz they’re not “hot” right now. These lists are going by who’s getting more air play, whats selling, and whats popular at the moment (i.e. Hot). I mean if you look at MTV’s G.O.A.T. list and they’re who’s the hottest list, they’re completely different. I’m not defending MTV I’m just stating the obvious.

What is this based on singles or albums? Live concerts? Dress code? Swagger, interviews? Radio spins realistically it should be all.

These clowns on the panel are not capable of picking the top 10 hip hop artist. Get some real talent on the panel, they sound like nerds and metro sexuals. Hip Hop is and will forever be the voice of the streets, and those dudes are not from or are far removed from the streets. This list is trash, How can u even mention solda boy lol. MTV get a new panel, your list is trash.

Ugh….why does MTV bother. Funny thing is, no one woulda gave to sh*ts about this list had 50 not said anything. So on that alone fif should move up the list. LOL Plus fif’s mixtapes have been fire. And I agree, if Gucci Mane or Soulja Boy are on that list I’ll join you in the glass of drano. Oh and Wayne altho has all the buzz right now, has not put out an album yet and should not be #1 again. He should be at least bumped to #2. I think Ye is gonna be #1 based on his album sales last year, even tho Lupe is actually the better MC than him imo.

@ Blu, Am not sure what your askin me but I went with the hot MC’s who I listen to and who give me that fire.
As for Lil Wayne he’s put out so much material that I can pick songs from his catalogue and make a classic album.
I think it takes talent to create a project and talent to bring song to life.
Plus Jim Jones would have been on that list for swagger and hood classics such as “Certified Gangsters” “We Fly High” “Summer wit’ Miami” “Weatherman” “Emotionless” I dnt care if he’s got beef wit Jay or Cam I listen to all 3 dudes.
