Lebron James Hysteria: Miami joy, Cleveland pain, twitter pleasure
Posted by Miss Info under beef , high point 2010 , hmmm....? , life beyond rap , low point 2010 , quotes[27] Comments

After visiting Lil Wayne in jail on Thursday, Kanye West changed out of his green striped polo, dusted any album-hack rumors off his sharp suit shoulders, speed up to Greenwich CT, and joined his buddy LeBron James at the vainglorious announcement of his announcement.
“I’m taking my talents to South Beach…”-LBJ
LeBron delivered “The Decision” to join Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat live on ESPN, and the reactions were instant and passionate. Even before the announcement, there were know-it-alls with bad sources, LeBron stalking, and sportswriters who ripped LeBron’s strategy (Deadspin called him a “c–ksucker”). After the announcement, there were superhyped Miami fans, Rick Ross bragging about his courtside seats, and celebs booking their South Beach trips for Sat’s private party (that I was already hearing about on Weds, lol).
But, on the other hand, there were also Cleveland die-hards burning their #23 jerseys, girls crying at sports bars, and most shocking, a virulent letter from the Cleveland Cav’s owner Dan Gilbert. Gilbert’s sore grapes letter not only accused LeBron of cowardly betrayal, but he also “guaranteed” a Cleveland championship, and planted a curse upon the Heat for signing LeBron. Basically, this guy Gilbert gave LeBron an NBA version of the Miss Celie “Until you do right by me, everything you even think about gonna fail!” Color Purple curse. (Read the whole letter after the jump)
As casual observer, the rollercoaster, the circus and the soap opera has been fascinating. I definitely feel for embittered Cavs fans…but thoroughly enjoyed the twitty repartee, LOL.
After the jump….read Cleveland Cav’s owner’s scathing letter to LeBron, and watch LeBron’s post-announcement interview, etc.
Lebron talks to Michael Wilborn about what went into his decision to go with Miami. He also talks about the reaction that he will face in Cleveland, the burning of his jersey by Cleveland fans, and what sacrifices he will be making in his quest for an NBA championship
I can’t imagine that, in the long run, this guy Dan Gilbert, owner of the Cavs, won’t regret hitting send on this open letter to LeBron James and the distraught Cavs fans….it’s a rash reaction that’s borderline absurd. But clearly, emotions are clouding this guy’s composure.
Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;
As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.
This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his “decision” unlike anything ever “witnessed” in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.
Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.
The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.
There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.
You simply don’t deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.
You have given so much and deserve so much more.
In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:
“I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE”
You can take it to the bank.
If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our “motivation” to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.
Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.
Sorry, but that’s simply not how it works.
This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown “chosen one” sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And “who” we would want them to grow-up to become.
But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called “curse” on Cleveland, Ohio.
The self-declared former “King” will be taking the “curse” with him down south. And until he does “right” by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.
Just watch.
Sleep well, Cleveland.
Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day….
I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:
DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue….
Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers
Um….im no sports buff….but didn’t LeBron and the Cavs have a work-for-hire agreement that was mutually beneficial over the past 7 years? Mr. Gilbert makes it sound like LeBron suckled on his teat without leaving a crumpled $20 on the dresser in return.

The Cavs owner is a petulant ass. He sounds like a bitter Ex-girlfriend. It’s not Lebron’s fault they couldn’t build around him. Good luck to Lebron hopefully he can pimp slap Kobe, & Gilbert after winning the finals this coming season.

Co-sign…
Fast forward to next season, Miami is in for their 1st visit to cleveland…
Wade & Bosh fall back so he could do his thing against the Cavs…
Lebron drops 90 points on them on national T.V., punches Delonte West in the face & does the runnin’ man to “Parkin’ Lot Pimpin’” on Dan Gilbert’s back.
The End.
*applause*

Nah it would be better for all 3 of em’ to sit out. And let the bench warmers stomp the Cavs. Lebron should finger bang one of the Cavs cheerleaders on Mid-court during halftime then mush whatever their gay mascot is.

LeBron is doin what every athlete is supposed to do, focusing on their career and going where you can perform at the level best. He did his time at Cleveland it didnt work, suck it up Cleveland they didnt make the most of their opportunities.
Every replica t-shirt burnt just makes it easier for LeBron’s past with Cavaliers fade away quicker and make way for new merchandise, they should have got refunds instead lool
The Cav Owner should be on ED LOVERS next C’mon son webisode!

dan gilbert is classless. lebron played there 7 years and they didn’t help him or put him in a position to win any rings so he did whats best for him. cleveland fans are babies they should be happy for what he did for them in those 7 years, but instead they acting like he did nothing for them… get over it you don’t own the guy.

All I can say is we might have a problem this NBA season…that Miami squad looking like trouble this year.
The only coach i’ve seen combat Phil Jackson as pulled off the draft picks of the decade, maybe the century (Bosh, Wade, and Lebron)let’s just hope they compliment each other.
I just never saw Lebron as a back-up player tho cuz that’s Wade’s team!!!
Let’s go Lakers!!!!!!!
Kobe, the tru king of this NBA s***t

Didn’t take long for the bandwagoners to jump out of the woodwork and defend Lebron.
King James is a sucker, he just ruined the eastern conference for the next 5 years. If your a Heat fan good for you, but for everyone else that watches the NBA knows this is move that hurts his legacy and gives absolutely no parity in the NBA.

I understand that it is Lebrons decision..however,I believe that it does damage to his legacy.Jordan and even Kobe did it with determination, dedication and leadership, the hard way..not by basically hopping on a bandwagon full of great players to achieve the goal of winning a ring.
Lebrons decision is equal to playing a video game and using the cheat code to get 100 lives, you will win but it wont be the same. How dare the world compare him to Jordan, when its Scottie Pippen we should have been comparing him to..

Hell no. Please do not mention his name in the same sentence as Pippen, and even Kobe. Bron ain’t half the champion those two are.
Don’t even start w/ MJ.

Pat Riley is the genius behind this all, still stepping on NY necks. This is for Patrick Ewing.

Outside of LeBron shaking Dan Gilberts hand and telling him he’ll re-sign, his reaction to LeBron leaving is no different than a chick that just got dumped.

But in this case, the chick didn’t just get dumped, she found out about it on national TV, as her (ex)man was announcing his new girl. On national TV.
Bron told her he was gonna get her a ring. She ain’t get it.

Gilbert just embarrassed the team more than they already were. The only thing Ohio has going for them now is the Buckeyes

ha! Lebron had an hour-long special to stab his hometown repeatedly in the heart and go become a glorified Scottie Pippen.
he just hurt his brand. no serious sports fan will ever look at him the same.
don’t believe the hype anyway. wade is due for an injury. and bosh has never performed in an important game in his life. sure he put up points with the raptors in the reg season, but that’s easy when nobody gets hype to play your squad and you’re always the first option on offense. of course you’re going to get yours. we’ll see how he does when his touches are reduced, he has to play against real D, and the games actually matter.
also, after each of these dudes gets their 90 million, what do you have left for QUALITY role players? zilch.
Lakers in 2011.
and Gilbert just said what everyone was thinking. kobe nor jordan would’ve ever ran off in their prime to piggyback their way to championships. bron’s not of that pedigree.

Looks like LeBron took the easy way out to me. Taking on the challenge of winning a title for his hometown in Cleveland would have been worth several championships with the new, stacked “Big Three” in Miami. He should have stayed the course in Cleveland, and his popularity would continue to soar, as well as his income!

Lebron was selfish and wrong for putting everybody through the media circus. But you can’t put the whole blame on him. Honestly, New Yorkers did it to themselves. His entire career he has repeatedly said “he just wants to win”. And what the Knicks offer him the chance to be a billionaire? Um stupid he wasn’t talking about money he was talking about being on a team that has a chance at winning a ring. The Knicks had nothing to offer him but the image of New York .Like he doesn’t have the time and money to come here on his own. Then they go get Isaiah “I fucked up the Knicks” Thomas to go talk to him in the last minute…FUCK OUTTA HERE!?!
Nets… don’t have a chance until they move Brooklyn
Chicago…too much bad blood ask Noah
Clippers…(sigh)
Cleveland is the only team i feel bad for in this situation. Cause they trusted him to say ” fuck the temptations” come home. Which do i understand. But you can look at the way he played in the playoffs and you can tell he had enough. The difference between him and Jordan. Jordan is and was a stubborn gambling man.Lebron a lot more flexible.Plus, remember he is still 25 years old.I’m 27 and at 25 i wanted everything right there and now. Two years makes a hell of a difference. The maturity level raises.Maybe he couldn’t take the pressure anymore of being the head man in charge. But you can’t say he didn’t try. It is hard to say what your talent expresses when your ahead of your time.
It doesn’t matter what he said in interviews about being a billionaire brand one day or the other shit he sold to the public. He is still young , and no matter what he still needs time to grow up.I’m not saying he had an excuse to do what he did. But just an understanding cause he is probably going to repeat some of these words later in his career whether he fails or succeeds.
Anyways i gotta say some slick shit ..
Aye Kobe you better repair that shooter finger of yours. Cause We are on your ass now NIGGA (no homo)! LMAO
LETS GO TRIPLE HEADED MONSTER
LEBRON+WADE+BOSH= 2011 NBA CHAMPIONS!
LETS GO HEAT!!!!!

I’m a Knick (& basketball) fan & I say good for him! (I knew he wasnt coming here anyways) The way I see it, now I got a team to hate. It’s been a while but I need a team to root against like past years ago! (MJ’s Bulls, Bird & the Celtics, The Bad Boys) I hated them with a passion but it’s not like that anymore. He is a grown man who’s contract allows him to see what’s out there, why get upset? When the owner or coach cuts a player, they (the player) have no say either so y is Cleveland’s owner acting like a bitch?
