With his HY!£UN35 album on the way and getting closer, we’re probably guaranteed to hear a ton of songs that will either not end up on the project and a select few that will. A new track “Stunna” has surfaced and it’s not clear where it’s from, but Thugga fans will take it regardless. It won’t hurt to play it during the weekend’s festivities.

Birthdays are not only celebrations for the person, but if they’re an artist, there’s a good chance fans get a present from them as well. To celebrate her 34th birthday, Beyonce has released her seductive “Crazy In Love” remix, which was only available on the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack and not up for stream anywhere — until now. There’s a good chance you probably haven’t heard this version. It’s very sensual compared to the original.

One of my favorite Scarface albums ever has to be The Untouchable. The Fix may get the most acclaim, but nothing on there beats “Smile” with 2pac. It’s just classic ‘Face music. That’s why our inner fan has been curious to check out Deeply Rooted. While the mainstream and even younger avid rap fans may not be up on his music, it’s evident by the tracks he’s put out that he can still drop knowledge. In a recent interview, he said he didn’t want to follow the trends of today’s world, but be himself. And if the album is any indication, he’s going to be dropping some lessons.

Netflix's The Beasts of No Nation (Idris Elba)

I’m halfway through the excellent and mindblowing historical series, ‘Narcos’…tracing the rise of Colombian coke emperor Pablo Escobar…and already adding another Netflix production to my must-watch list.

Upcoming Netflix Original, ‘The Beasts of No Nation’, follows the path of a young boy who is forced to become a child soldier in an African civil war. While the subject alone is reason enough to pay attention, the production also pairs Idris Elba (whose James Bond struggle, I already wrote about at length) with director Cary Fukunaga (who made ‘Fight Girl’, and the critically-acclaimed first season of ‘True Detective’). Apparently, Elba almost fell off a cliff and Fukunaga caught malaria during filming.
I’m almost scared to watch this film when it is released in October, because if it’s even a tiny peek at the horrors of Africa’s wars and genocides…then it will still be completely heartbreaking.
