Before Super Bowl 50 kicked off between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers on Sunday (Feb. 7), Lady Gaga performed the U.S. National Anthem. The pop star took to the field at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, wearing an eye-catching shimmering red suit, singing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Backed by a piano, Gaga sang beautifully as Blue Angels flew across the sky over the stadium. “It’s such an honor and a dream come true,” she said in a pre-game interview with the NFL Network. “I’ve always wanted to sing the National Anthem at a major sporting event since I was a little girl, and for it to be the Super Bowl, it is the ultimate.”

Lady Gaga will hit the stage at the 58th annual Grammy Awards next Monday (Feb. 15), where she will perform a tribute to the late David Bowie.
