Earlier this week, Kendrick Lamar ripped the Roseland Ballroom with 2 back to back shows. The MissInfo.tv crew brought you exclusive clips of A$AP Rocky and 50 Cent’s memorable guest spots, but we also have an exclusive interview to share. After K.dot rocked his first set, we caught up with him backstage with Hot97 to talk about his current tour run and upcoming projects. He opened up about how much he’s enjoyed his recent TV gigs (like SNL and Letterman). However, the most interesting bit of their convo was definitely about how KL has not started on his next album at all. The Compton rapper says doesn’t want to force anything and is trying to live in the moment and take in his experiences for inspiration.

“I haven’t locked in album mode. I write every day, though. I have ideas all the time, but me going in the studio and locking in, making the next album—I don’t wanna force things. I still want to live in this moment. My biggest mistake today is not living in the moment, and understanding everything that’s going on.

“Right now it would be more of a moment of inspiration,” Kendrick tells Miss Info about when he’ll start recording for his next LP.” Being inspired to go back in and be confident in what I want to say next. I don’t think it would be an actual date.”
