Fuse recently caught up with Kendrick Lamar, where the topic of Nas calling good kid, m.A.A.d city one of his favorite albums of the year dominated the discussion. It’s funny because Kendrick wasn’t even aware of the fact until host Esteban told him! The Black Hippy MC went on to return the praise to Mr. Jones and even backed up his statement with confidence:

That’s amazing, just off the fact it’s Nas. You can hear the influence in my music, you can hear the influence in my storytelling. For somebody that [is an] elite player in this game, a veteran, as far as longevity and skill, that’s an accomplishment, just off words alone.

I definitely feel like I [dropped the album of the year]. Not to knock anybody else, but the hard work and the time that I put into this album, and months and no sleep and just working working in the studio, I definitely feel like I can’t slight nothing away, as far as the accomplishments and accolades that the world are saying.
