Katt Williams vs. Steve Harvey…..um, why?

so I’ve been hearing that Katt Williams had planned to go in on his elder for a while…but can someone tell me why these two have beef?

Apparently Steve dissed Katt a while back. Katt said he met Steve Harvey years ago in a record store. Both comedians were with their sons. Katt approached Steve to tell him what an inspiration he was to young black comics and Steve looked at Katt and said “Who are you?” Once Katt told Steve a bit about himself, Steve looked at him and said “I’ve never heard of you” took his son’s hand and walked away.

Well I think that regardless of any minor incident which soiled thier relationship in the pass, Katt Williams took the advice of his PR and challenged Steve Harvey as a Publicity Stunt..Problem, Steve Harvey may not be funny to Katts fans because he is more mature and on another level. Steve harvey never used the same material in every show like katt! He also has done a hour & a half long stand up where he did not curse once, BRAVO. These guys will never be comparable.

Fuck Steve Harvey! Even though he does not curse, he ALWAYS sounds EXTRA country. That shit is so corney. it’s irrelevant. the fact that a mediocre comedian like Katt gets so much shine speaks to how starved the standup field is at the moment. We’ve got so many greats alive today (Jamie, Cedric, Chappelle..) who are doing tv shows, movies and other shit instead of getting on stage and that’s a shame…

It’s not a shame. It’s called having a successful career. I wonder why most people assume comedians, actors, musicians all do this stuff for some altruistic philosophical reason. Truth is its a job like any other and a hard one at that. People aren’t going to give up putting their kids through college just so we can have a few more laughs. Theres new comics coming up all the time for that. Also, katt aint mediocre. Dude is ridiculous and he’s had a couple movie roles too.

Apparently it may be over Steve Harvey saying on his radio show that he “Doesn’t know who Katt Williams is..”. This was supposed to be settled already (when Katt called in the show and they straightened everything out) but now Katt feels like he’s bigger than Steve and needs to call him out.

Does anybody realize Katt was dissing Steve while they performed at the same venue on the same night! thas must see TV! Katt is Crazy but this is Hilarious! I think Steve is tryna be the bigger guy becuase he as done some triflin ish during his career! notably tying to undercut Bernies career! he was so FAKE on Larry King when the other kings were there to talk about Bernie, look like he was straining to get tears out! shout out to the Hype Man recording tho, katt doesnt have a pro for that! wouldve been more gully if it was just random audience member who posted video on youtube.

The details are still unclear at the moment but a few weeks ago is when the back and forth really started. Katt left Steve a message about being an “original” king of comedy and Steven dedicated his whole morning radio show to the sitation. Apparantly Steve aggreed to capitalize off the situation by performing at the same venue as Katt for a night.
I always loved Steve, but he’s had this comming for a loooong time now. He has very little respect for the younger generation (rappers, comedians, ball players, etc…) comming up in this world and its no coincidence he got his ass handed to him by a younger comedian. Say what you want about Katt, but that is a very funny mutha fucka. It’s an unfair fight for Steve to begin with. I went to see Mike Epps a few years ago and Katt stole the fuckin show before Mike ever came out. Epps damn near bombed because we were all so hypnotized by Katts comedy that Mike shit no longer worked on the crowd.
This is good for comedy though, I like beef, unlike most people. I suggest to for people to remove all emotion from this and just enjoy the show.

@ Nameless…I cosign what you said about Steve Harvey in the sense of, he doesn’t believe anything good came after 1972…I was never a big fan of his comedy, always thought Cedric was wayyy funnier…however…..Katt Williams has been riding the same ticket since his Pimp Chronicles…”you gotta enjoy yo muthafuckin life, its haters all around you!” act is wayyy dead. His new dvd “It’s Pimpin, Pimpin” was kinda funny, but he is still recycling his old azz jokes.

I am sure that it is all staged. My hubby and I were going to buy tickets at the last minute. When we saw the prices we were like not in this economy!! The few left were 150 each. This “beef” is all about the money–get people talking and sell, sell, sell. How many times did Steve Harvey mention his 5, count them 5, dvds on Jaime Foxx?

Mad times I’ll read really interesting comments here that I dont feel need any replying to bc they’re just perfect as is. I love how savvy/sharp/funny some of the readers are…..but at the same time, I’ve heard from other really amazing/talented/cool…even famous maybe…folks who read and don’t comment. So there’s no pressure to always be witty. It is appreciated though when its there.
I love when things go off on a totally fascinating tangent. Like there was a post that went into a long discussion of folks’ vacation book recommendations. Then there were a few posts that turned into food critique.

See this is perfect, Katt is supposedly “down with Dipset” see his DVD, Killa gave him the eagle chain and everything (and rocked it appropriately in “Money In The Bank”). Now is the time for Katt to call upon his Dipset Employee benefits and make a crazy dis track with Cam or Jim (or both?), kill 3 birds with one stone.
Who recalls when The Young Gunz dissed “Money Mike” and Katt went in on them, lyrically, I think that was on a Game tape back in 05.

Steve Harvey is mildly funny a best…in comparison to young Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor or even Martin Lawrence. Steve is just another person who blames all the negativity of the world on the younger generation. Isn’t that what most old people complain about.

Whether or not Katt Williams is funny is a matter of opinion. Plenty of old haters didn’t like Richard Pryor when they were used to Red Foxx and plenty more didn’t like Eddie Murphy when they were used to Richard Pryor… Whatever. I listened to all the interviews and radio call-ins etc… Steve Harvey ran his mouth too. I wasn’t in Katt’s shoes to know everything that happened, but there obviously was some issue between the two of them. I doubt it was a money-making scheme because if you look at his DVD sales… they’re through the roof, plus Katt produces his OWN DVDs. I think Katt’s entire style is newer and fresher, even when SH comes up with new material, the delivery is still old and stale. I could chill and smoke a joint with Katt, Steve Harvey would get along better with my DAD. Oh, and I don’t think he’s gay… he’s just tiny as fuck.

Steve got just what he deserved.He could’ve squashed that whole “comedy championship” promotion but jumped on it when Katt had that hotel incident because he thought he wasn’t gonna show, and started talking greasy. Then when Katt let him know he was not only coming but was gonna air him out he tried to play the innocent “what did I do?” role. Katt went on him something terrible. Steve is played out anyway with that shuck and jive minstrel show comedy and making a living off of advising gullible middle aged country women.
And for those that think it was all staged please don’t get it twisted those words sounded heartfelt. Any man know you don’t call another dude a bitchassnigga unless you mean that, for real. Perfect justice for a alltime hiphop generation hater to get served by one of its members.

Steve Harvey would be hillarious… if it were 1996. And who’s the big tough guy who said he’ll slap Katt? He’s only 5′5″ which leads me to believe you wouldn’t slap shit. Stop hatin’ Katt… all of you SH fans can say is that he’s little, crazy, and on drugs… AND??? You’re probably not the first to say it and no doubt you won’t be the last. I’ve met the man and he’s good people and his family is cool. I’m married to his cousin. I suppose that makes me kinda biased, but nonetheless he’s on a whole other talent level than SH. Quit whining! It was billed & sold as a CHAMPIONSHIP! The venue was set up like a championship fight, complete with expensive ringside seats, 5 feet away from the stage. Steve came out, dissed a woman in a $250 seat, dissed the Detroit factory workers (who ALSO bought tickets), whined & moaned abouT Having to work in the round.
Katt came out like the showman he is, in a boxer’s robe & championship belt, got in to the spirit of it to give us our money’s worth, clowned Steve’s claim of being the
King” of Comedy – totally disrespecting Pryor, Murphy’s “Raw” & “Delirious”? Hell, even Chapelle, B-Mac (R I P), & Chris Rock are/were funnier than Harvey.
Harvey spent most of his time doggin’ a woman who paid $250 to see him & dissin’ Detroiters who paid good money in hard times to see him on New Years Eve. Katt spent most of his time dissin’ Steve & going for the championship!
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize who won!

SH is a done deal. Katt is real and does his job very well. He delivers. SH is just a total fake. His track records shows no loyality. That radio station and his constant preaching makes me just turn to another station. Steve is the type that would cross anyone he thought might out weigh him on the comic scale. Sorry to say…but as small as Katt is…he took that old lying buzzard down…I heard SH on the radio with all that dog bark moon shitz, and this was before the show. At least Katt was man enough to step right to him…Steve did not say nothing on stage, not because he was a biggar man…but it’s real simple…STEVE HARVEY always do his dirt behind the scene….Katt took it to him. Steve just ain’t funny no more, accept to those die hard fans. Katt flavor is far more dated, original and real. Comedy is tough…Oh as far as Katt mental state…some of the most talentive entertainers have all sometime or other battle their own demons. It don’t take nothing away from their skillz, however, those demons they battle might be the very ingredient that makes such a talentive product.

this shows how dumb you are, the purpose of this event was to see who is the better comedian which clearly isnt katt williams, yall niggas is hype off of katt williams doing 3 stand ups and starred in friday after next bhahhhahahahahhahah! As a matter of fact name a stand up with out the jokes from pimp chronicles in it before pimp chronicals! Steve harvey got hella stand ups!
