This work of art seems to be how mr west has always wanted to portray his music with coulour and vision. He is on the same level as andy warhol or some crazy stuff…original all the way!!!
welcome to heartbreak!
See… the thing about kanye and 50 is… 50 cant break that stigma that he has brought upon himself… hes a “gangsta” rapper.. and when you become that you most often times are stuck with that and you must “live it out” throughout your career. Kanye isnt like that.. hes just him and when you are that way you have room to grow and branch out which really and truly can make you a musical genius (not to say kanye is that but im just saying…) Kanye is free of any bonds that the music business has for him. He has the money and the talent to be whatever he wants to be. True musical (financial, relation etc) freedom is what true happiness is all about in my opinon
It’s crazy to see Kanye evolve so much as an artist in such a short amount of time. I thought 808’s got slept on a little bit, just because it was different from what people are used to hearing.
One of the most visually stunning videos I ever seen…..
Production is crazy…..
Auto-tune still sucks…..
Why is it yall bone heads always wanna bring up 50 when the topic has nothing to do with that??? U think 50 (aka Mr. MyNetWorthis300Mil+) gives a flying f*ck that yall think he can’t “expand” as an artist??? Every1 aint in the game for that. why can’t yall just come in here say u like the video or whateva and leave it at that?
Some ppl wanna expand and some wanna stick to what they do best.
hmm A little bit of colydoscope, maybe a bit of a Peter Gabriel, some Michael Jackson off the wall influence. Ok Kanye this video was really goo almost maybe forget you can’t sing. (*cough*) Almost.
Before I pressed play I thought this was a video of that Skrilli milli dude getting double teamed in a colorful circle jerk.
I’m just saying thank God my assuption was wrong wheew!
you know
Incredible video ! Visually it’s amazing ! I was expecting a video that would follow suit to the lyrics of the track…but I’m not complaining. And a lol@Kanye’s Pastelle sweater looking like something from “The Cosby Show”
Since this seems to be Ye’ Tuesday here’s my cover video of “Love Lockdown” called “Phone LockDown”. I promise you a nice chuckle or two =O)
Creatively amazing. The visuals were breathtaking almost translike. This guy isn’t “just a rapper” he’s an artist. I’m not a “Kanye fanboy” I can listen to everything from 36 chambers or some old Rae or Ghost and just vibe out or The Killers. I’m a fan of all types of music be it rap or any other genre and I can tell you that this guy is a true artist. Definately one of the best of my time and generation.
Cudos to the Director, writer and Kanye for this artistic video. the transitions from one shot to the next was done great. I too am a huge fan of this song. I wonder whats the next thing for Him. I must admit he is great at going to the next thing (Forward Thinking) but sometimes when I listen (I truly listen) what he has to say he comes off as someone that just wants to hear himself speak. but other times he comes off as the smartest guy in hip hop.
Man when I saw flashing lights that got people talking but this, this right here Kanye I take my hat off to you real talk nether saw a guy who came out the box and step on it real talk man video the song feeling it
cool video…too bad music videos died back in 07. I mean who plays music videos anymore, Ellen Degeneres plays more music than MTV (suprisingly a lot of rap). Ellen Degeneres is the Big Tigger of 09.

Yea, if you really look at it…being a gangster rapper is career suicide even before it begins. Because once you sell yourself as a gangster, there is no going back from that and there is no room to grow. Because if you try to get away from that evolve and better yourself as an artist (and hell, as a human being), then you’re going to be seen as a sellout, a fake, not “hood” or whatever.
So note to all new artist: Stop it with the gangster rapper thing…you won’t be able to grow as an artist plus were over the whole “I’m a gangsta” act.
*Goes and listens to OJ Da Juice Man and Gucci Mane, “make tha trap say AYE!”* lol
I guess great artistic videos make up for garbage songs, because this guys album is boo boo. That “College Dropout” kid was alright with me. This new guy is….well, I want go there. I guess its just not for me. Damn, what happened to hip hop? This is why everyone is dying to hear anything Cam has to drop right now. They are hoping that there is atleast one artist who has a taste of hiphop left in him.
It’s an awesome video and I’m not at all surprised to see Kanye doing something left of centre again!
@ Circus – Its directed by Nabil who has also directed some video’s for common and Will.i.am he also takes awesome photos. The style is similar to a style used by visual artist takeshi murata check it out on youtube sometime.
I think Kid Cudi’s Mixtape/Album A Kid Called Cudi might be the best record that came out last year. Some might call me crazy. I can’t wait to hear him over Kanye’s sh*t.
@28 that’s why I can’t mess with T.I., plus if you’re gonna be a gangsta rapper, you can’t be 5′4 110 lbs. Know what i mean? Bein a dwarf ain’t gangsta, no disrespect to dwarfs.
(Damn 2009, can’t say anything anymore without offending people)
Tu parles francais? C’est impressionnant! Est-ce que tu parles d’autres langues? En tout cas, le video est cool! Mais j’en ai assez de Kanye le chanteur, je veux Kanye le rappeur!
