Kanye West Shines Bright at Revel Resort Show in Atlantic City

For the first-time in over year, Kanye West headlined his own solo show on Friday night at the new multi-million dollar Revel Resort in Atlantic City. Reminiscent of his 2011 festival run highlighted by his appearance at Coachella, Kanye returned with the same familiar aesthetics and stage setup that included his go-to band, ballerinas, and a large crane for his opening of “Dark Fantasy.” With his girlfriend Kim Kardashian and NBA star Steve Nash in attendance, ‘Ye treated his fans with past hits, a cover of Phil Collins “In the Air Tonight,” and performances of his recent releases “Mercy,” “Way Too Cold,” and “New God Flow.” A catalogue as deep as Kanye’s, the show focused on his solo work as Pusha T was the one guest appearance for “Runaway.”
Kanye returns to Revel tonight for the second of back-to-back sold out shows.

I had a good time at Revel for the 2nd time (went to the Beyoncé show) but I was disappointed that this was basically the same show I saw at the Essence Festival in New Orleans a year ago. Kanye has always been a innovator and bringing a new show to the table and this just felt kind of lazy.
Then there was the awkward moment where he performed his verse of Mercy and the crowd chanted for 2 Chainz and Big Sean and Ye responded with “This my shit!”
I guess it was good for the people who never saw the setup before but for me I got bored towards the middle.

I had a good time. Wish he had more special guest appearances. Didn’t understand if Pusha T was there the entire time why he only did Runaway?
But it’s Kanye West so of course I had a good time. Loved his rendition of Phil Collins In The Air.
