New Music: Justin Timberlake Feat. Jay-Z “Suit & Tie”
Posted by Mr.North under album preview , new music[32] Comments
Step aside, Justin Timberlake is back! The singer-songwriter had the media and internet in a frenzy on Wednesday night when news got out that he’s planning a return to music. After building anticipation with a video announcement on Thursday, the pop star debuts his new single in timely fashion titled “Suit & Tie” co-starring Jay-Z. With long-time collaborator Timbaland on the production (also credited as co-writer), JT and JZ throw on the high-end attire on the smooth offering presumably off Timberlake’s forthcoming third solo project.
It’s been six years since JT’s four-time platinum selling FutureSex/LoveSounds album in 2006. Rumors have been swirling late last year of Timberlake working with such artists as Drake and more recently, a studio session with Beyoncé. All signs are pointing at Timbaland to handle executive producing duties on the yet-to-be-titled album.

I love the song. Justin was doing Robin Thicke before Robin Thicke was. Go listen to all the unreleased tracks off of Justified.

Dear Miss Info,
I believe JT and JZ “threw on” the high-end attire, not “through on.” Sorry but I had to
On a side note, the song is awesome!
Best,
Jag

Too fast. Not enough “style.” Expected a more unique sound.

A mature Justin. Track didn’t need Jay. This song just doesn’t pop…more like filler track. I need to hear more!

I think the intro was wacked….but the song is hot….and No Justin didn’t need Jay but of course he makes it hot instead of any ole rapper …Nice work Justin…very nice track just kill that intro Timbaland and maybe make the intro some heavy bass beats…

Vocally, JT sounds crisp and perfect. But for me, that’s about it. He and Timb missed a perfect opportunity to use love instruments which would have really brought out the song but overall it just makes me disappointed that he teased us for this?!

Timberlake is back. The smooth singing white boy. Big move getting two legends on the track Jay-Z and Timbaland…

I think Robin Thicke’s falsetto is way more powerful and interesting than what JT is doing with this song.Even Usher’s.
JT sounds like a little boy wearing grown men clothes on this track, especially when he talks urban.
I thought the beat was OK. Maybe it’s a throw away track? And Hov was not needed for this. R.Kelly most def but not Hova.

This is some grown man music. Something you can vibe to with a fine-ass female.
BTW! Why does everyone think that they’re music critics? Don’t like the song? Go listen to some recycled Rick Ross, Meek Mill or 2 Chainz!

Jay’s worse verse still sounds better than most rappers out today…SMH! Regardless, its a cool sound, different…something that is needed in today’s cloned society…At one point in music, it was cool to be different…I appreciate Timbo and JT for bringing a different vibe back…Jay did his thing, not expecting him to talk about drugs/murders, etc on this track…
