Just Blaze recently linked up with electronic wunderkid Baauer to bring us a banger of a collaboration with “HIGHER.” In Pitchfork‘s latest Pitchfork Weekly episode, the pair sat down at Stadium Red Studios to discuss the creative process behind the beat, how easily they worked together and how their different musical backgrounds contributed to the unique production.

Just Blaze: I gave you those vocal samples with all the different screams and what not. My idea was to take this one sample and do this with it, and then I walk out the room and [Baauer] found another sample that was in that same folder, and he just placed it in this one part—it was the big ‘wooh!’ And I heard that and I was like, ‘Oh wow, that was perfect, I didn’t even think of that.’
