Nice! Just is seriously holding out on Hovy man all those tracks where crazy. Think about that early 2000’s stable of Rocca-Fella in house producers Just Blaze, Kanye West geniuses. It’s good to see Nas getting back in lyrical shape though, will it this time translate to great albums don’t know hope so cause his last 3 where awful, shit most all of his albums where awful with numerous bright spots mixed in but awful as a whole despite his tremendous talent. But Nas doing his thing is good for hip-hop. Jay Electronica is amazing not gonna lie and say I’m totally up on all his music but I’m officially in! now, I need to track down as much of his stuff as possible. Things are looking good out there people the new crop of rappers all show great promise from Wale to Electronica to Drake, Gucci, B.O.B, J. Cole, Kid Cudi and so on the vets are catching there stride again like Nas, Mos-Def, Reakwon, Ghost, Weezy, fuck it I personally am not a fan but even 50. And the legends Jay-Z, Eminem are rightfully claiming there Icon statis with vets on the cusp of Icon status Kanye and Weezy are all wroking hard to cement there status. It’s a good day things are looking up, soon swag surf soldierboy tell em and things of that nature will be a distant memory

And if the concept was to record 3 good songs, on 3 albums and surround those songs with about an hour each of crap then mission accomplished! How do you like that motha fuckin opinion! When your album titles are more talked about and more interesting then your actual albums themselves then it’s time to scrap the concept and get back to your roots. Ok stop the maddness people I assume your speaking on my comment listen I love Nas I just feel his last few albums where sub par the beats were shoty and the execution of the “concept” was not very cohessive felt like a collection of random ass songs. The lyrics were great that’s were Nas always shines but the hooks were forgetable that’s were Nas fails. We’re talking albums here people complete songs not just a hot 16 or 36 these are not mixtapes I expect execution of complete songs when I’m buying an album like Nas did on illmatic it was written

I don’t place Nas in any category he is in the category that he is in and that’s that. This is no referendum on the caliber of artist or lyricist that Nas is because Nas is one of the greatest, but you can not say he’s a bigger star with greater appeal and crossover success then Jay-Z or Eminem. That statement is ridiculous and shows the naivety of some of the people on this blog. There’s not a single quantifiable category that Nas equates on any level with Jay-Z, or Eminem if you have one prove it.
@NOE AT ALL I’ll give you this maybe Michael Jackson was a stretch, Mike is, his own level, your right about that one. But I’m not the only one who puts Jay-Z on the level of Madonna and U2. Live Nation also agreed, when Jay-Z became the only rapper to be offered the record breaking 360 tour deal that was previously only given to guess who Madonna and U2. The consumers agreed giving him 11 straight #1 albums more then another Icon the beatles, and making him the biggest superstar in Rap period. The only others in hip-hop at lis power level are Eminem, 50, and maybe even Kanye, men lie women lie numbers don’t, and Nas just don’t have the numbers or crossover appeal to call him a super star. Is he a great rapper yes he’s probably the most talented but is he Hip-Hop’s biggest star NO!

One thing I’ve learned is too never count the next man’s money!
