I like this song, its catchy, grimy and simple, simple-minded even.

But the reason why its interesting in the larger scheme of things, is that this is 50 Cent moving further and further out the matrix. This isn’t an Interscope release. Its not for any scheduled project. And since nowadays, alot of hip hop’s audience is experiencing their music on youtube and online more than than ever, I guess its makes sense. Just skip the song—go straight to video. 50 called in his staff videographers, had Banks, Buck and Yayo come over to the house, rounded up some hard-face birds, and voila. Every rapper has a studio in the crib nowadays, its all about having your own built-in green screen, kid! If not for videos, then how about those “home movies.” Sex in the rainforest? Just add it in “post.” Just sleazy enough for you to get the effect even if you’re watching it on your cellphone. Will we ever see another million-dollar shot-on-location-in-the-Maldives video again?

Oh, the other thing I noticed about this video? Young Buck takes after his boss…they both have the ungentlemanly habit of f—ing and telling, lol. (props to DJ Yan for timing it at exactly 3:57)

UPDATE:….wait, one other thing…is it just me or does Banks sound different? Almost sped up?
