underground airplay

Call it a Cinematic Music Group cypher as Joey Bada$$, Big K.R.I.T. and Smoke DZA (arguably Jonny Shipes’ three most successful pick-ups) connect for this throwback track, “Underground Airplay.” With its clunking drums and yawning horns, this isn’t too unlike anything we would have expected to come from the Wu-Tang camp circa 1993. The track comes correct with some visuals, too, in which directors Coodie and Chike film Joey, Krizzle and DZA in atypical grimy NYC settings, subsequently capturing the raw essence of the record. “Underground Airplay” comes courtesy of Ecko Unlimited’s upcoming compilation mixtape of the same name.
