Joell Ortiz’s response to the Sean Bell verdict….

In my opinion, this response is superior lyrically and content-wise. Same anger and discontent…just more nuanced.
Joell Ortiz “50 Shots (Stream of Consciousness)”

Are you saying that this is superior lyrically and content wise over Games 911 Is A Joke song? Cause if thats what your saying I agree. GAmes track is pretty weak, beat is weak, and he aint even talk about Sean Bell only like one time he says somethinga bout the kid in NY, mostly its just a song about cops and shit. Anway, this is real shit about Sean Bell, some real shit, not that wack Game shit. Joel Ortiz spits that real shit.

I swear Joell is one of the most consistent with it. I mean I get that “daaamn” feeling every time I hear him! I think everyone will agree this is above Games song in many respects – plus I don’t get how on that interview from the set of the video Game says “I’m not tellin people to go and shoot cops…” I musta misunderstood something right?

He spit it hard; BUT he said about 8 bars about the verdict and kept it moving. I like the verse but it is no way a 100% response to what happened.

Y’all just roooting for the under dog Joell Ortiz’s flow geta irritating after 3 or 4 tracks I’ve got Bodega Chronicles and i can’t listen to that joint from start to finish.
An MC like Nas, Styles P, Jadakiss,Papoose will go in hard body on the topic and produce a banger. Or for you soft dudes Kanye, Talib and Mos Def. As for this track its aiight but doesn’t quite knock it off the park. If 50 wasn’t pre-occupied a Diss Record G-Unit Vs NYPD will cause chaos!!!
Game’s track is hard body, I dn’t expect him to go really hard on the Sean Bell issue that much coz he didn’t really know dude plus Game’s hatred of law enforcement is more personal.
T.I’s new track “No Matter What” is hot.

I see this whole Sean bell case as revenge for the oj Simpson case… Think how some white people felt when oj got off!
I think its still fucked up what the cops did tho… But having all these rappers making songs about the incident kinda makes me feel like how ya rap about your not gangsta if you don’t kill someone but now you say stop the violence… I’m just the type of person to see it from both sides with everything….

I just dont understand why not more attention on this situation, when a new material object drops we are quick to respond. But when a life is stolen its like many people with a voice look the other way not shore if the people with a voice is scared to use it or just dont care? Props to the ones who do but if you can scream out a vodca or champaign you can scream out Sean.
