It’s hard to believe that 11 years have gone by since Pun passed. For a dude in his mid-twenties, copping Punisher’s debut album Capital Punishment was a big deal for me. I remember my father driving me to Best Buy and looking at computers, while i hit the “new releases” aisle to snatch up the disc. Real talk, that CD made me do my homework on Latinos in Hip-Hop. From there, I went onto cop old Beatnuts CDs, Fat Joe’s early stuff, I even remember getting pumped to hear Tony Sunshine’s first album (it never came out), off the strength of  Pun and TS.  Rest In Peace Christopher Rios. MissInfo: Big Pun was a never-to-be-repeated talent, and I love that Joell channels his essence but in his own way. Meanwhile, in honor of the anniversary of Pun’s passing, Angie Martinez posted her interview with Pun and Nore. The homie Messiah/InFlexWeTrust posted this vintage clip of Pun on BET’s Rap City with Joe Clair, watch it after the jump…
