Just skip to the 23minute mark….for the crux of Joe’s realization, or at least his statement that he may have spoken about Meth in bad taste (while he is adamant that he feels he was being truthful). Budden says that he and Meth are not “peers,” but that he only spoke on Meth because his real peers are trash, lol.
Predictably, there are a bunch of anti-Joe Budden songs from Wu affiliates now, spotted at Nahright.

Method Man got way way more hot joints than Joey Budden, like you can’t disect hip-hop and claim to have the best lyrics, the best tone, the most swagger, the most money, vocals, pitch, rhymes it has to be the total package.
The total package= who’s art is more entertaining and captures your emotions. I grew up on that Red and Meth music and so did many people across the globe.Sidenote Redman MTV cribs episode was priceless.
At the end of the day. Meth got joints you easily identify with. It triggers some kind of emotion. It’s timeless, it’s hot when you play it plus it take you back to the 90’s the golden era. Joey’s point is, right now he’s better than Meth because he feels he’s younger and more relevant, I don’t view things using that perspective, I think it’s stupid and a waste of time.
I look at the whole catalogue of relevant music throughout a recording career. Meth wins hands down. “The Blackout is damn near a classic hip hop album. Too Shot is more relevant to me than a Joey Budden because to quote Rick Ross it’s deeper than rap we grew up listening to those cats they are pioneers and hip-hop icons they are on legendary status, Joey should throw his ass back in the lab and work, period.
What does Joey have to back his argument? What album could he point to and be like that was a classic? NONE!! How much is a Joe Budden verse worth these days? there has never been a time when he was ” The Hottest in the Game” So dude just needs a reality check just because he hangs around with rappers in Slaughterhouse who never got their chance to shine and he got 1 gold album he thinks he’s that ill? He’s last album sold like 23K in total, Halfway house 3K, I don’t care about numbers but it’s a reflection of how the general public feel.
The Blackout is better than anything Joe Budden has put out in his entire career.

For real, Joe Budden is getting way in over his head. First Melle Mel then Method Man, both are legends in their game. True I agree that some of those people that are on the list shouldn’t be up there, but look at it this way Bow Wow has put in more work then Budden’s (even though he doesn’t write his own rhymes). Joey needs to stop whining about how he’s not getting any respect and work on getting a deal with a record label and put out another album, not no Padded Room #89 mixtape ish ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sOMzYCmTMc ). I mean even Canibus has like 4 albums out, but we all know Canibus will eat Budden’s for lunch.

This seems to be a routine with him. First, He runs his mouth. Then, gets attention on the rap blogs/sites. Next, he gets the attention of whomever he’s getting at. Later, it gets dramatic. Finally, he “clears” up the “misunderstanding.”

I fuks wit joe but he just basically contradicting himself a numerous amount of times to try to keep flippin like 2day first off you cant compare rap poetry lyricism to sports some of our greatest philosophers in our earth are more remembered for their work as they got older like sacretes or aristotle but worst then that he fuked up wit the whole opinion and fact thing he said that its a fact today he better then method man and he has proof were is the proof did you battle him yet do you even have a diss track that he couldn’t repond to or choked on and didn’t have a comeback come on man you try to come out like you so intellegent to the people but a person thats wise wouldn’t have to explain their words more than 10 times that just means you talk stupid and on top of that if you have to explain a reaction you had and justify it then in reality you did have some type of animosity towards who you singled out because why even let people get any type of negative thoughts of what you meant when your clearly saying your not hating on meth or that you a fan. you cant tell people what they feel thats like someone says hello good bye and excuse me but when they say it you feel a cold vibe coming out of them a persons emotional actions speak louder than words to end this off if you say you don’t give a fuk of what people think why care about a stupid list made by a magazine that aint even in tune with real hip hop joe let the music speak for itself and just give us another banger because you do have talent despite your downsides

when wu came out they were ahead of there time as far as rapping. Now rappers are just catching up ie lil wayne (yes his style reminds me of the wu-tang). So for someone that is not ahead of there time to say that i can put up a better 32 bars is crazy. Go get that blackout 2 ablum

I dont know anymore. After being a little underwhelmed by BlackOut 2 Im beginning to believe Joe when he says he’d seriously damage Meth in a battle. Im sure Joe would have no problem mimicking Meth’s (tired?) flow and mannerisms and such and then show him up for using recycled lines on Blackout 2 of which there are numerous examples.

P.S. – Why aren’t these stations giving Wu and other real hip-hop artists any airtime? When I was coming up everybody was rocking that. Now any lame can just turn on the T-Pain sound effects and they’ll get played all night.

oh and theres no comprehension issue here.I fully understand english.budden was feelin brave and overstepped the boundry.thats wat happend.In meths era there were alot of issues with expicit content in rap music.In london ur cd was only on the shelf if you hit gold or on import. It was harder for niggas to come out!!! nowadays it is easier to release wateva material u like because the industry is saturated with hip hop, and we have the internet.So i give even more props to those who pushed hiphop further in the 90’s.

Dig! Everybody hatin on Joey. Meth is nice, but its over for him, Red too! Which is cool, and should be expected, cause its time for the up and coming artist to do there thing. People and styles get old, but in some cases evolution comes into play. Tical’s case is not one of them. On that note. Stop hatin on change, Joey, and most of all Jersey! Man fuck that! Meth had one good album? Huh? I’m going to assume you’re maybe a real young cat. You can’t just judge an artist by his solo material. That’s like judging Eric Sermon’s solo records as though he was never part of EPMD. If you did that…you probably just don’t get Eric Sermon. That’s plain nonsense. Wu-tang’s first album…certified classic. His first album…weird..but classic. Meth on GZA, ODB and Raekwon’s 1st albums..classic. Wu-tang’s second album…classic (that debate should be over if not y’all need to listen to what those cats were spitting again). Nothing Joey Buttons has ever put down can touch anything from that period. Then you add Meth’s appearances on Red’s albums, Blackout, and we still haven’t even reached his second album which I agree may have been 50/50. Being a good battle rapper don’t make you a great emcee. That’s why most battle rappers can’t get good deals. hearing some witty one-liners is cute. But if you can’t write a song, whats all that worth?
