damn smh at the haters on here, but did any of u actually hear padded room, its a very good deep album, good beats, genius lyrics, yes genius, consistant beginning to end, the title matches the song topics perfectly, it has a good feel to it, not to many rappers out are this talented.

Chief, I hear ya. Its amazing how some of these “rappers” are still around today ONLY b/c of the internet (cough JHOOD cough!).

As far as Joe is concerned, in all honesty, HOT97 should have hired him to do the morning show and not some corn from Cali. If they did maybe people would still listen to 97 in the morning instead of Ed Lover.

It’s gonna be interesting in a few years to see how some how many of these internet celebrities–rappers and otherwise–are still in the business. If so, that’ll either display 1) strictly love of the music/art or alternatively 2) an infatuation with celebrity for the sake of celebrity. For the bulk of these people (I don’t think Buddens will fall into this category, but I think there are going to be a lot of internet rappers who follow his business model badly), they will be much broker than the average cat with a 9-5. They’ll be multimedia bloggers who attempt to find a niche market of friends/supporters to sustain their egos.

I mean, Buddens is definitely like that on a larger level–his songs/references are kind of an inside joke that the average Jay Z fan would have NO understanding of the context. He just happened to have his time on Def Jam, a big hit and more charisma than your average dude which makes him SLIGHTLY more accessible…

Anyway–just a few thoughts.
