Jhené Aiko recently announced she’s working on her next album, Trip 17, which is inspired by both a literal trip to Hawaii and a broader sense of the term. “It’s inspired by every type of trip you could imagine: mental, physical, even psychedelic,” she told Playboy magazine. “I’m at a point where I put it all in the music. It’s a puzzle I want people to put together.”

To accompany her upcoming album, Jhené has also written a short film called Trip. Right now, it’s unclear what the film is about or when it will be released, but you can catch a preview of it below via the trailer Jhené shared on Twitter. Watch this space. UPDATE: Jhené drops the full film, co-directed by herself and Tracy Oliver. The singer plays the character Penny, who takes viewers on a journey of love and loss.
