A few confident emcees on the other hand, focus their work and record a smaller collection of songs with the confidence that their precious rhymes will garner a buzz, and thus lead to the sacred record deal. Well, with a lil’ luck and perseverance, one young lucky North-Cack-a-lack-ian was able to convince Mr. Carter that he was in fact kinda like a big deal. That’s right J.Cole is the latest Roc Nation signee, and internet superstar. I mean who else can get Vibe, XXL, Complex Allhiphop, etc and the rest of NY’s “cool kids” to pack their mixtape release party, not album… but mixtape.
