JAY-Z makes history once again. The rapper/mogul just released his new album 4:44 last Friday (Jun. 30), and now it is certified platinum. On Wednesday morning (Jul. 5), the RIAA announced Hov’s 13th album moved 1 million units. It’s also a historic feat, as all of JAY-Z’s solo albums have gone platinum, more than any Hip-Hop artist. “.@S_C_ has earned 13 Platinum solo studio Album awards, more than any other hip-hop artist in @RIAA Gold & Platinum history,” tweeted Roc Nation.

You CAN win when you work from your heart… And that is more than money,” said 4:44 executive producer No I.D. on Instagram, alongside a photo of JAY-Z holding his platinum plaque. The platinum certification for 4:44 is based entirely off streams, as the album is currently available exclusively on TIDAL and also to Sprint customers.

Props to JAY, he’s done it again! Another Platinum album adds to an already iconic career,” said RIAA CEO Cary Sherman in a statement. Sherman can be seen pictured above with JAY-Z and his new hardware. 4:44 will be available on iTunes and Apple Music this Friday (Jul. 7) with a physical release coming soon.
