Jay-Z welcomes Jay Electronica to Roc Nation, and Jay E. performs new songs at The Box, NYC (Video)

It was a glorious night for the Internets and all Jay Electronica fans. Live from the Lower Eastside , Jay-Z officially welcomed Jay Electronica to the Roc Nation family. After a few modern day burlesque performances, Hov crept out from behind the curtains and graciously thanked the audience for coming out. Then he welcomed Jay Electronica to the Roc and repeatedly called him “a Wizard.” (c) Kid Cudi
UPDATE: Diddy voices his opinion via Twitter & Erykah Badu responds to Diddy’s feelings.
Jay Electronica performs a new song onstage during his Roc Nation signing party.
And after the performance, while folks were exiting, they played Jay Electronica feat. Jay-Z, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and The Dream “Shiny Suit Theory.” Listen to a clip after the jump….
Previously: Exclusive: Jay-Z announces “A new wizard in the game…Jay Electronica is officially Roc Nation!”
MissInfo: I apologize for the frustratingly noisy audio. If I coulda scream “Everybody shaaaadup!” I would have. But that would have been uncouth ; )
One other thought….I loved the Cudi interview that Joe La Puma did. His lines were so hilariously absurd and original. But between Ye and Hov, I’m reminded of that line in Mean Girls with Lindsay Lohan and Tina Fey. LOL!

WTG Jaz-O Jr just swallowed up another promising career..

shouldn’t affect jcole at all… his train has already left the station. Hes up and running which is why Hov proley waited about 2 yrs before he signed another rapper. Cole album should be out early 2011. Columbia/Sony distributes Roc Nation

Smart move for the both of them. Jay e is a MC we don’t get to many of those anymore. For every 10 waka flakas we need
The Vado s and jay elec s .
I would like to hear jay elec and jay cole and pusha on a “watch the throne track”
Maybe we can get that feel of 1996 again
When “it was written” and reasonble doubt and all eyes on me was out.
Great hip hop

Nas had main source, Search and most importantly Kool G Jay had Jaz, Original Flavor, and most importantly BIG. I don’t know enough about wiz history to say I do know he was signed to a major back in 05 and books with the agency group so he has been in the system for a while.

Hope all goes well. But how many R&B artists and hip hop artists are signed to Roc Nation that has yet to drop? Jay Electronica is 35 or so and scared to drop a mixtape (Act II) that he has been promising for 3 years and has made every excuse in the world for it not dropping. He is a nice lyricist but he is in NOT the future of hip hop! Per Tourex twitter: “Jay promised a Jay Elctronica album first quater 2011.” We shall see…fans have been waitng for damn near 2 years for J Cole to drop his official album!

This story is just another thing that proves Jay-Z is on Nas’ dick.
1. AZ is Nas’ friend, Jay tries to become close to AZ.
2, Jay tries to get Nas and AZ on ‘Bring it on’
3. Jay tries to get a verse on Dead Presidents from Nas
4. Jay samples Nas’ voice on 2 songs when he can’t get a verse
5. He starts messing with Nas’ ex girlfriend
6. He listens to all of Nas albums then breaks down how he feels about them on his so called “diss”
7. He tries to become cool with the Wu
8. He jumped in Nas’ hiphop is dead sessions and forced himself on a track
9. He put Nas on another track and wanted to put himm on as 3rd for his last album
10. Constantly name dropping Nas
11.Signed him to Def Jam and gave him millions of dollars.
12. Probably writes about Nas in his book
13.Tries to become cool with Jay Electronica who he knows fucks with Nas heavy.
Jay-Z: Get off Nas’ dick!

LMAO!!!! Every artist u mentioned would rather do business with Jay-Z than Nas given the choice. As an artist Nas is dope but as a business man nowhere near Jay-Z’s level.
Where are those Bravehearts QB rappers @ today? loooool Jungle, Nashawn,Horse huuuuh??
Nas aint even poppin these days. I like the old mafioso rapper Nasty Nas, Esco etc. Real talk Nas fell off!!! I went to dude concert with Damian Marley and left halfway thru.
Jay as an artist just keeps going from strength to strength. Nas is mad old school dealing with Baby Mama drama a damn statistic.

Nas hasn’t put out a solo album since like 08 and a regular one (none concept based) since 04…How the fuck did he fall off? He just stopped putting albums out…I’m tired you stupid ass kids saying that people “fell off” or they have “no buzz” when they aren’t putting themselves out there like that. Are you stupid? How does someone fall off when they aren’t trying to be on?
Nas’ career has nothing to do with this anyway, I was talking about Jay-Z’s constant Nas dick riding. You fucking jigga warrior stans love to bring up irrelevant shit when you have nothing to say to valid critiques of your favorite camel… I mean, artist.

Ur mad confused? This delusional joke of a human being said “Nas’ career has nothing to do with this anyway” ao why oh why did you bring up Nas in a Jay-Z post?
Talking about “I’m tired you stupid ass kids saying that people “fell off” or they have “no buzz” You still stuck on stupid i.e Jay-Z vs Nas a beef that neither of them care about anymore.
Everytime a Jay-Z post showing progress u die hard Nas fans come out of the woodwork talkin sh!t, i’m starting to think Nas has the dumbest fans of all time.looool
Nas fell offf because the last time Nas was interesting is when he battled Jay-Z. Quite frankly who cares if Nas puts out another album. Dude looking like Lauryn Hill out there who knows why they look miserable like that. Nas interviews are like he’s high like life has dealt him a blow its sad but Nas career is over. Like no 1 even puts him on features anymore ….damn!

I didn’t “study” shit, this is all hiphop history that’s been out there. Jay-Z is on Nas’ nuts… Remember when Jay shook Nas’ hand in the “Roc Boys” vid? I bet this nigga didn’t wash his hands for like a month after that…This jigga was taking showers with gloves on and shit. I swear, Jay-Z loves Nas.. That “beef” he started was just a scheme to get Nas’ attention. Look at this shit man…Jay Electronica had ZERO affiliation with Jay-Z, now all of a sudden dude is going to sign him because he sees him hanging with Nas? Get the fuck outta here.

I see what Nas means when he states:”the internet is the devil….the media is misleading you.” I sure hope the people hating on Nas or Jay-z lives a better life than both these men.

To have a stance on a subject is one thing… To make a comment as blind as the one I text about is something else… I at one point listend to both rappers never at the sametime but they both got play… Nas for me hasn’t made a album I could vibe to since IT WAS WRITTEN… And Jay since all but three songs on AMERICAN GANGSTER so they both fell off… Only in my eyes… Im not O.D. hip hip enough to catch the holy ghost from a Nas verse like some I see make comments about this man on the net… If it was a dope song I will say so… But damn I just had to have fun with that person about his hate… It was over the top funny seeing what he wrote… And as for the devil on the intenet thing… In todays world people see Satan in mashed potatos so you miss me with that bullshit… We each are old enough to grasp whats right and wrong without the devil being thrown around i.e. the whole illuminati is he or isnt he shit… A persons feelings should never be so wraped up in the next man if that man doesnt know who you are… That type of love is one way and lonely LOL And super sad… Its music thats all….

What age does the mind start to slow down, when does a person stop having the ability to relate? When does the voice grow weary? In Hip-Hop, when your style is old, you’re old, that’s when you hang-it up…Age is for sports. Jay-E is the Marty McFly of the game, “Back to the Future” with Dope Old New Shit

I’m conflicted! I love Jay-E’s music like I once upon a time loved Jay-Z’s. I see the value of Jay-Z from a popularity and national credibility stand-point, but it’s something pure about Jay-E that doesn’t mix well with Jay-Z. Jay-Z is a master lyricist, but a “by any means necessary” makavelian profiter, please don’t fuck with the homie’s artistry in the name of money…I look forward to Jay being an engine to move the Electronica Train…ChuChu MFer’s we movin’ now!

That Jay-Z on Nas dick shit is tooooo funny!!! However, Who is Jay Electronica???? ………Nah, I know who he is but, him being co-signed by Hov won’t make ppl fuck with him. Just Blaze is the reason “Exhibit C” popped off. That beat was a MONSTER. You see anything and everything before or after that song, people didn’t give two shits about. Another commenter was right…Jay E. should have gone the Wiz Kalif route instead of the wizard route. I think that Jigga just wanted somebody on the label that was close to his age.
