With all this Jay-Z praise, you would have thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

And yes, RocaWear is played out. Last time it was remotely hot was the Dynasty era. By the time he got the deal to sell it in Macy’s, cats were already getting clowned for rockin those shitty S.Dots. I was too busy coppin Dunks to notice.

It’s good to see that people are moving away from the groupism that afflicts many of the hip-hop generation these days being obsessed with the ringtone artist of the moment. As a culture, I’ve personally bore witness to this “fad” that was in the parks become a global marketplace. I’m proud to see artists transition to being business leaders in an era where uneducated, talented folks are stupidly signing 360 deals. This is truly what the “Empire State of Mind” is about, OWNERSHIP!!!
