In all honesty, “Otis” is not a spectacular song. Its a dope record, but people gravitate so much towards it because the alternative is so generic & weak that it makes the product stand out. This should be the best hip-hop album of the year and a breath of fresh air. Big ups Jay & Kayne for not being complacent and continuing to remain competitive in a dying art form

That’s the smartest thing he ever said he felt the music was heading to a weird place. Bring it back to lyricism not targeting every record towards chicks, even though I understand theirs a market for that, sometimes I just wanna hear straight up raw rap though.

I reminisce of the days, way back in the days, the dark days before CD’s and MP3…The Tape days. The days when I you to run to the store buy a Tape by my favorite artist and play it on both sides with forwarding OR skipping every song. Even Bad albums were playable. The had a good flow, good sequencing and all that good stuff. I do not find my self doing that very often this days. The last time I heard and album all the way through with getting anxious about skipping or repeating was My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
I think that’s something many people don’t talk about. One factor that fueled the Napster Revolution was the fact that albums starting sucking. Me personally, got tired or playing 15 – 20 bucks for an albums and only liking one song. I felt robbed and conned many times. There are a few pleasant surprises (like Terror Squad the Album, just from the type of my head).
But I just got tired of getting conned. I think i owned a few thousand dollars worth of Albums and I only listen to a small percentage of the. I usually ended up making my own mix tapes.
Maybe artist need to stop complaining about the status of the industry and start making albums that flow. I’m not asking for Greatness, I just want to get my Money’s worth. That way I won’t feel conned when I see dudes showing of our hard earned money on MTV Cribs or something.

Why Jay hate Pap? not saying this interview is what makes me think that. Pap from Brooklyn, did a whole mix tape with bleek,,but I can’t help feel that Pap n Jay don’t like one another much

Yeah he i saw that subliminal @ pap too, and nobody said ish….hmm…is it maybe because Pap kicks reeeeal “knowledge” and Jay’s bizz partners ain’t with reeeeal substance? its a shot in the dark, but it does intrigue me that the last “knowledge rapper” (nas) he had an issue with as well.
