acting and talking like a juvenile, he’s said himself he’s embarrassed by the things he has said in his records, but it keeps the money coming in, the uk is a different audience to the states, i doubt they want to see a 38 year old man talking like a 17 year old, its not that people dont get it they just dont have alot of time for raps about killing and dealing, u.k rappers dont go there because they know it does’nt go down well with anyone over 17, there has always been hip-hop at glaston, but it is’nt neccessary to headline a hip-hop act as it does’nt have the mass appeal a headline act should have. You say if the people want it give it to them, the people could not have made it clearer that they dont want it, im not sure its personel to Jay Z, but im sure if it were Outkast or Dre & Eminem it would fly, talented as he is Jay is’nt as big as he thinks (not here anyway)

The big picture of this event to me is this… Next Glasto, it would be laced with hip hop artists, no disrespect to Rock music, but think of a show with Universal appeal rather separating musical genre’s from each other, if the people wants it, then give it to the people. You don’t want hip hop then don’t support it; that’s like you telling your kids don’t do drugs with a smoke in between your fingers.

Big up to Russell Simmons, Hov, Diddy, 50, and all other artists for moving hip hop upwards instead keeping it at a constant level. “Innovation not Duplication: 2008″

years ago at Glasto sunday used to be the Roots Day, i can remember seeing Mobb Deep there, but Jay Z headed is just wrong, rap is not that big in the u.k (compared to bands) and its sounds truely shocking live, i dont care what anyone says i’ve seen The Fuggee’s, Snoop, Diddy, Mobb Deep & more, a band can sound like the record they put out (if they’re good) lyrically a rap record is near impossible & the artist just ends up sounding awful, its not that people from the U.K are’nt open minded, Dre & Eminem sold out the Bowl for 3 days a couple of years back, Glastonbury is just not the place for it, and like i said rap is in serious decline over here, something seems kinda sad about a 30 something talking & acting the way he does.

The whole Glastonbury thing isn’t Jay’s fault. The ones who disagree with him headlining need to be pissed at whoever’s cutting the check. If anything, Jay’s being put out there to take the hit, and he’s not running from it, another classic move. I’m actually worried that it may become ugly in terms of the audience. But knowing Jay, he’ll figure out a way to spin it in his favor. Maybe he’ll bring out Chris Martin….
