So, yeah, I know, this happened yesterday and it hit the web last night. In fact, the good guy Splash sent it over but I didn’t see it ’til this morning. Why? Because I’m in full Halloween crisis mode. Who knew how hard it was to find a little lycra-spandex in this damn city?
Anyways….Jay-Z addresses Beanie Sigel’s “What They Talkin’ Bout” gripe: “Beanie had a record deal, a record label, a clothing line, and never went platinum. I dont know, in the history of rap, anyone who’s done so much with so little. So I dont know what more you can do for a person at that point…if that’s not pushing a person, s–t!”
But my favorite part was from the interviewer: “Let’s stay in the complaining zone…”
LOL!
But as for the actual Beanie vs Jay-Z debate: it seems that these men are talking at each other but looking in different directions. Hov’s response is not quite about the things Beans mentions in the interview. Meanwhile Beans is griping at Hov without itemizing his own liability.

When thats your upbringing it becomes business 1st friendships secondary, so that means if you know Jay through business that will always come 1st and friendship afterwards but if you f’up the business than it’s over.
People that have been Rocafella fans from day one will tell you that Jay is a product of his environment. You can’t fake it your whole life these accusations are a little pathetic and not well thought out. Just like calling each other stans, d!ckryders and haters it’s everyday bullsh!t, y’all can do better.
Rocafella was formed as a label from day one and built around Jay-Z, because he wasn’t getting a record deal from anyone, they had Rocafella jackets from jump so what you see now is a progression of what they started years ago. Rocafella was built around Jay-Z when Dame tried to change that it backfired and this is the backlash.
So Jay with all his businesses should now start shouting out True Life because he got involved in all Jay’s beefs while signed to him and even went as far as trying to snuff Cam’ron in the face? In his current batlle somebody got stabbed and died in that incident, so should Jay-Z drag his company by backing a True Life so that y’all can say Jay-Z is keeping it real and not a sell out and watch Roc-Nation, Rocawear and the 40/40′s got to sh!t?!!!! Hov is right about Beans having all those ventures. However, Hov is not right in not speaking on the other things Beans said. This is not about money with Beans. Again I repeat…this is not about money with Beans. Beans said he knows Hov is in another space right now and he gives him all the credit in the world for making as much money as he did. This is about the other things such as…..
1. Why would you have Beans kicked out of the building at the concert?
2. Why would you not let Beans leave for another label (G-Unit) when he had the chance to make substantial more money than he was making in his current situation? Especially when it’s become obvious that Jay has no further plans for Beans.
3. Why would Jay not vouch for Beans in court if the only other alternative was him going to jail? If your worth so much $$ I’m sure you can hire someone, maybe like a spiritual advisor to stay with Beans and make sure he stays on the right path. OR…you could’ve told Beans to hire the guy himself…I’m sure there were plenty of great men out there that would jump at the chance to do this for Beans, especially if Jay was involved. Now I understand Jay can say “well Beans is his own man and this is just a business.” Jay and Dame knew what type of guy Beans was when they signed him.
I really can’t find anything that Beans is wrong about. All he’s doing is sharing information about the music business that the general public never hears about. There are so many things that happen in the business that we don’t know about. I’m sure there are millions of stories that could be told about similar situations. Imagine being a fly on the wall in a room where Jimmy I and C. Davis are sharing memories.

Very valid points, im my opinion the answer to all those why’s is because he didn’t have to. That wasn’t his job Jay-Z was not his father, not his mentor, and obviously not really his friend he was his Boss he gave the man a job because he thought that man was qualified to do that job. Beans say the relationship as deeply personal and obviously jay saw it completely differently, and that’ where the disconnect is. I think it can be worked out on a business level but on a personal one it’s just going to have to be a lesion learned type of thing for Beanie Sigel now move on.

That’s because Jay is a large artist and they know he will sell anywhere he goes. He had to pay that dollar amount because of all the money Def Jam was letting go by letting him leave. Beans buyout would’ve been nowhere near that amount. Mase had a 2 milli buyout and he’s sold millions of records so what do you think Beans buyout would’ve been?

if beans is reckless enough to beef with jay at his own show who knows what beans is capable of, escorting him out is good business. something popping off at a show for jay hurts his image and cash. beans aint got nothing to lose. that combo is dangerous when millions of dollars is at stake. jay handled it like a boss.
buying out beans contract is speculation, who knows what is involved..beans dont know. he dont have an accountant and he dont have a manager. so who knows whats going on with that situation and i guarantee u coming at jay, talking smack bout how u got info on dirty business concerning his wife aint gonna make jay become all of a sudden cooperative towards beans thats fo sho.

And the issue is about money trust me beans will say its not but everything he said on that interview points to “money”. He is now broke and has usually looking for someone to blame. He was using the G Unit as an example of a rap family. He used 50 as an example of how he thought Rocafella was. Beanie thought the relationship was stronger than it actually was…that’s all. Plus…if you stop to think about it….Beans has a right to bring up the money issue because he could’ve went to G-Unit and made cake. When you sign with them your going to get paid period. Rhz business model is archaic, but at least he let them grow there own brand and didn’t hold them back. hence Meth, Ghost, Rae, even Cappa has a following. Jay kept his Kingdom submerged. No one was allowed to grow. (hence Memphis Bleak) 50 arranged a deal to Co-produce Freeway and that album was fire. Mase’s window was closing for what he does, so of course your not gonna pay 2 million for that. Beans can tour so being able to re-coop any funds spent on his deal were there. It’s chess not checkers my dude. You made my point for me Cam sold Juelz rights although late after Juelz window had closed, he did give him his freedom. Jay suffocated this dudes career. He treated Beans more like a pet then an artist. Dames tried to hedge his bets with Beans and you could see it with all of the theatrics. It all comes back to Jay should have just let him go to G- unit. Something tells me that line compared to Beans you whack still haunts him. he didn’t want 50, a known rival to treat his artist better then his character would allow. Now its all on front street and its gonna get uglier.

I haven’t agreed w/ JZ in a while. What he said was valid when put in that way. That only answers some of the business aspects of the situation though. There are still plenty of unanswered questions in regards to what happened between the two personally.
Details from Sigels side of the situation can still be applied to what JZ added. If Sigel wasn’t being payed properly, whether he went platinum or not, having contracts pulled from under him and endorsements, one could still question the validation of JZ’s comments. Not saying JZ’s completely to blame for Sigels payment issues, just partially long side Dame.
Who knows?
I’m still waiting for the one on one conversation between the two. If they were ever that “cool”, I don’t see why JZ can’t @ least talk to him. Unless hearing the truth hurts for him [JZ].

At some point Jay realize Beans just don’t want to get right. After Jay didn’t vouch for him in court, he caught at least 3 more cases…When Beans had Jay’s ear he didn’t want to listen. He had the world at his feet, and chose to be a goon. Remember when Jay caught that case against Un? He learned from it, and became more successful. Beans isn’t being held accountable for his own actions. He has the wrong people in his ear. Jay seems like the type that will only help those who help themselves. I agree with that approach. Beans was in a position to be a multi-millionaire several times over, and he fucked that up. Jay aint no saint, but every dude on that label was in a position to set themselves up for life. I think that the steadily growing membership of the “jz fan club” is just another by-product of a dysfunctional industry full of dysfunctional people. All the talent are young kids, mostly from broken homes(no one looking out for them), so its easy to take advantage. All you have to do is act like “family” and they’ll pretty much die for you since they don’t have an actual caring family to compare your behavior with. Anyone familiar with the industry’s history already knows just how heinous the contracts can be. WTF is a 360 deal, anyway? Info, at the end of the day..Jay turned his back on a friend, and all beans is trying to find out is why? (no money involved)..come on son’ getting him escorted out of the concert or not vouching for him, to stay out of jail, not even a simple phone call by Jay-Z himself (about releasing everyone off of rocafella)and yes..Sean Carter owes him that!!!! You can always tell the kids on this post. Kid like answers always revolve around kid-like logic and emotion. Siegel had the SP label and clothing line after going gold. it’s all about money. Are the majority of you cats ignorant. Dude wants out his contract cause he needs to make money elsewhere. But if Hov decides that then chances are in beenie’s new record label he will be gassed to go at jay. So play chess and don’t let him out of his contract. Plus that’s a def jam contract now.
