Jay-Z on the Hot97 Ciph and Rosenberg Morning Show: Oprah, Obama, and more
Posted by Miss Info under beef , crony-ism , laugh with , life beyond rap , new music , quotes[40] Comments
Today, (after months of hilarious begging) Hov visited Hot97’s Ciph and Rosenberg morning show, and they rolled out a red carpet for him, served wine and cheese (lol, sort of) and talk about things like: Oprah’s preference in quarter water (purple), Obama’s request for campaign help, and the biggest complaint from Jay-Z’s detractors…as for T-Pain recent rant in Las Vegas:
“(KFoxx: How do you respond to Tpain saying all this stuff at a party)…I just hope he had a great time.”
Jay-Z on the Hot97 Morning Show with Ciph and Rosenberg (thanks to RR and Dre for the audio)
RapRadar also posted the audio of Jay-Z’s other morning radio rounds….after the jump.

Love how you showed love to the other morning shows and posted their audios. As much as folk get their panties in a bunch about Jay-Z. In the end he’s just 1 option of many that we have to select from.
I don’t get why he generates so much venom from (some of) the public.

Because he tries to be the king above all of those said options.

How so?
His words/opinions only have force if the people give him that. He’s never forced me to do something I didn’t want so shouldn’t we raise the curious eyes at those who are so easily moved to act by him?
Like you said he “tries to be king”…..well whats wrong with that? Who doesn’t want to be the best at what they do?

I really want to know how he feels about the Drake line on Fear.
“I never cried when Pac died.
But I probably will when Hov does.
And if my tears hold value, then i would drop one for every single thing he showed us.
And Ill be standing in a puddle.”

Yeah, tru story, I was shocked when I heard that line. It’s so truthful and I commend him for that, but it crosses that line of being inappropriate to speak of another man’s dying day before he actually goes. Crazy!

I love that Ciroc ad Inf. good look!!
Ok and lets be clear the King/ambassador of NY City is Mary J. HANDS DOWN!!! SHE HAS TIME AND TIME AGAIN MADE HERSELF AVAILABLE TO NEW YORK ARTIST SINCE SHE DISCOVERED THE LOX! Jay-Z makes himself available to people he thinks can benefit him in someway, What the fuck does Mary J get out of doing a Hot Rob song and video other than some chips from 50 maybe a favor if she needs it.. Sean Carter dont have that type of respect..
Jay-Z dont get that kind of respect for ruining the entire Def Jam roster!!

Which albums were better, Jeezy, Rick Ross, and T.I. albums that came out under Hov or the LL,Meth, Red, DMX. that came out Exit 13 was trashed by critics and bricked, Meth & Red album didn’t do that well neither and X is wildin out<<<< These people deserved to get benched for the best line up to go out. Just like basketball, put the strongest team out to win games.
Hov was the president of DefJam in charge of puttinng out hot music, he was succesful at that just look at Paper Trail, Port of Miami e.t.c
Who wanted to hear DMX's gospel album? Red & Meth album came out, wasn't great.
Was Hov supposed to shelve the new artists for the vets past their prime?
Hov and Mary J Blige are good friends i.e Reasonable Doubt track 1. There's no beef or competion for the two.
I mean if the President of the United States calls Jay-Z to work on a few projects Hov raised the bar for rappers, he brought Oprah to the hood. NOBODY IS MAKING MOVES LIKE HOV!!

People don’t see it. They PURPOSELY turn a blind eye towards Jay-Z. I’m not saying hate him. I’m saying be real when you see him. The people need to be real with themselves.

People turn a blind eye? What the hell does that even mean.
I mean 50 Cent sees Jay clearly, he said he’s dressin like Urkel and speaking like a yardie! LOL!
Jokes aside why is it that people that hate Jay-Z can never construct a good argument to support their accusations? They just post ignorant sh!t and rant over and over and have no FACTS to back it up?
DMX, LL and whoever were not dropped, they’ve put out the albums they wanted to put out and now they know why Hov didn’t make them a priority. The market for their music is pretty small.
Jay-Z as president of DefJam signed, Rhiannah and Ne-yo
Are they succesful? YES, Did their albums turn out great? YES
Do they go platinum? YES
As far as the music business goes, i’d say president Carter did a pretty good job.

The reality is those artist mentioned above, that I grew up on, had more issues to blame then just Jay for their album flops. I mean honestly they ALL have established fan bases of MILLIONS…..what was their/our reason for not buying the abluns???

I think it’s because they are lazy. They don’t put out records out for so long so instead of growing up with them, you grow apart.
The new artists come in the game and fill that void. So whn they come back it’s like, whts good? Coz your happy to see them, if their response is same ol, what else is there to talk about once you talk about the good old days?
It’s like your friends who go away and bring back no new information or experiences, you try and stay in contact but the circle of people around you stay the same unless you discover new things you have in common or they are bringin something new to the table.
Hov tried to stay relevant throught his whole career even when he retired he was still visible. I mean the anticipation of Kingdom Come was incredible. He always comes correct with the bars too.

I think everybody is forgetting that Auto Tune is steriods for RnB singer. That’s like saying when Barry Bonds come up to bat, we’re going to through a handball ball to him, to see how far he can hit it.
Autotune should only be used for reference singers to show where the notes should land, but when people are using it as crutches its crazy.
Jay-z shouldn’t have been the one to say anything negative about it. It should have been your quincy jones,’ your Mariah Carey’s, and Stevie Wonder’s of the world.
Ron Browz, used it wrong and made a decent “New York Record,” ok but he hasn’t made a career masking the fact that he can’t sing like T-Pain.

Hip Hop as a whole uses digital sounds and enhancers that are applied to give a song the extra kick it’s needed.
I see your point.

I woke up to hear this interview. Ciph & Rosenberg been begging for months, I was surprised he agreed to it, I bet angie got sumthin to do with that lol since Jay dont really go to any1 except Angie & Flexx.
They held it down tho. Jay is very sarcastic so his jokes dont really come out funny but it was ok.
I was hoping they were gonna come on twitter and ask ppl what they wanted to ask him, because I wanted to ask about his artist feature choices but its over now….kudos to ciph & rosenberg tho

Yeah they should have held off and had Angie and/or Flex do the interview b/c these 2 guys SUCK!!! For someone who has been begging for HOV to come through should have been more prepared with their questions. Rosenburg sounds like he doesn’t know WTH is going on in the hip hop game & Ciph’s questions had no point. Ed Lover @ 105.1, his interview was much better and gave more to the public. Step ya game up!

LOL @ them treating Jay-Z like the rich guy entering the hood for the first time in years. That was funny.
“It’s an incredible album”??!
“You have your hard New York street bangers…”??! Where?
“Venus vs Mars” sounds cool, the word play was NOTHING new. “Hate”… he sounds like Kayne so what was the “you made a whole new style” comment for?
Say you like the album, but don’t exaggerate. BP3 was lyrically WATERED DOWN. PERIOD.
Jay took an L on a Black a PR and a Jew. First Ether now this…j/k. Lol!
Overall entertaining interview.

I’d be embarrassed to work at Hot97 after that shit.
Seriously, they waited so long for Jay-Z interview and it was probably one of the worst interviews I’ve ever heard. There’s a reason Jay-Z hangs out with Westwood.
The other two interviews were fine though.

I always took it that Jay Z was dissing people that took autotune and ran amuck with it, not really dissing T-pain but the people that took what he was popularizing and watered it down.

The cd is just average…the production isn’t even amazing anymore. I wouldnt be surprised is Kanye sabotaged the cd lol, since he obviously has done better beats and the songs he’s featured on murks Jay’s parts. Cop Man on the Moon next week, support real muic.
